girls, am i the only one who still does not know where i am having my reception??????
okay girls, i know i went a completey different route but i booked with villa lombardi's my best friend got married there on june 20th and i fell in love with it!!!!! thanks for all the advice, i did check out riviera, glen island and vip club

What price range do you need? What is your 'style'?
I looked at 6-7 places until I went to Woodbry CC and there was no reason to keep looking, we fell in love with it.

definetly want beach or water view cause we want pics to be beachy also our range is the most 150 inclusive of everything and we have about 250-300 people, we both loved JA's but dont know b/c of rumors, this week we are going to look in new rochelle.
what about glen Island harbor club? I think its exactly in your budget and on the water and sooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous!

Check Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst. Its right on the Great South Bay and has floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the water. Very reasonable and great to work with :)

I would say about an hour...Lands End is really beautiful though! I would def. check it out! Also check out Riviera...its on the water. I went there last year for a wedding and thought it was very nice. There ceremony was right on the the water, beautiful view!

What about Riviera in Massapequa? There's also Surf Club in New Rochelle (since your cousin booked Glen Island).

How about Crest Hollow country club. They are reasonably priced and they give you a whole lot of stuff. Service is top notch, they even have a doorman which other places dont provide. I think its a nice touch. Very clean. and cocktail hour is poolside. That was the first place i looked at and the last. LOVE IT! I fell in love with it.

if you looked at an fell in love with John Anthonys- i wouldnt just cross it off of your list because of rumors.......
i am getting married at the harbour club - which is owed by the same company as john anthonys - i booked last year and i absolutelly love it there - it is exactly where ive always envisioned myself getting married at -----
and as far as the rumors go -all of the financial problems have been settled - and everything is how it should be -- there was an article a while back in newsday saying that everything was settled
if you have questions ask them - they have always been honest with me - and dont just cross it off of your list

Do yourself a favor and dont book john anthony's. They'll give you a quote, a great quote, but then at the end there are hidden fees and prices. As far as beauty goes.....John Anthony's is not that pretty. Land's End is gorgeous BUT PRICEY. I believe its between 120 and 150 per person. But it may be worth the price for you. Also check out Flowerfields, probably the BEST WEDDING reception location on the island. It is absolutley breathtaking. But very very pricey. Hope this helps......

Riviera is on the water but you are too many people for their ballroom. Land's end is absolutely gorgeous but they are 140 pp for a saturday night without tax and gratuities.
Defintely check on chateau la Mer and i'll try and think of some others that are on the water.

Land's End starts at $150 (same as Flowerfields-same caterer) and won't be under especially for the on peak months.... april - october....unless not a saturday night BUT YES DEFINATELY worth every penny

the Banquet manager at crescent was rude to us and well it is a long story but i would not go there in a million years.
