Am I the only one?...

Am I the only one?...

that feels like all these planning is so draining! I know I only got one thing booked so far, but there are so much to do and I feel like I have no time to do anything! I was never one of the girls that pictured and knew exactly what they want for their wedding since they are little... so I am totally clueless about things.
I didn't even know I had to pick a color theme, until one of my BMs asked me what mine was!

FI and I really just wanted to be married, we are so tempted to just elope, but I know my mom will be so disappointed because I am her only daughter and she is looking forward to this.

I am not really having fun planning the wedding. Please let me know I am not alone on this.

Sometimes I feel really overwhelmed with all these wedding plans too. My FH wanted to have a small wedding and sometimes I feel we should of. It is very stressful but you have to take things one day at a time.
Everything will fall into place.
We are all here to help. So when you need to vent you know we are here.

Nope definitely not alone!! I only have booked a church and a hall. We haven't done anything else, and just looking for stuff is draining.

I agree 100%. Sometimes I just want to cry between planning a wedding, work, school and looking for a place to live. But in a strange way the planning is so much fun.

No, you're not the only one! I get such a headache sometimes from obsessing about all the little details -- details that probably don't amount to squat in the long run!!!

You're definitely not the only one! For a while, when looking for photographers, working, and looking for a job I was really fatigued. It is very draining. I am glad I am planning early though, because a year from now its going to be 100x more crazy!

so not alone!! I think those of us that never planned though have an advantage - it makes us more flexible - we don't have an image of our head that has to be recreated and we wont be dissapointed! Times and styles have changed a great deal since we were little girls Your not alone!! This is stressful but it can be fun too at times! Thats what this board is for - i guess it can be like a wedding support group!

it sure does drain you! I have found it very helpful to step away from planning for like a month & just enjoy my time with FH...It made the planning so much fun when we started up again!

thanks girls
I am glad to know I am not the only one that feels this way. This should be a happy time for me but sometimes I can't help to feel so tired of all of the thing I have to do.
FI and I are taking a vacation memorial week, I can't wait to take a break from all the planning, and hopefully come back refreshed!

i feel the same way. i am just trying to take everything in stride and not let it run my life. also, i am sticking to viewing a few different vendors for each thing- i feel like the more you see, the more confusing everything gets. you just have to make decisions and stick with them....no second-guessing (unless something OFF happens with a vendor) and no looking back!!!

P.S. I am around for that drink if you need it!!!!!

Definitely not alone! I am taking the same route as Lisa and Jessica... I am sticking with my decisions and not thinking twice.

Aww, don't feel like you're alone!! We don't always have fun planning bc it IS really draining. But I just know it's gonna be worth it when I see how happy every one is, it'll make me feel good to know we did a good job. I think the more you get done the better you'll feel, so just keep at it and don't get discouraged! You don't have to have a big to-do wedding, you can certainly keep it simple so you and your mom are both happy! Don't look at all you have to do, just take one day at a time and things will be easier!!! The most important thing to remember is to just keep things relaxed!!!

Not at all!!!!

I had a near break down Friday night because my FI and I are so far apart and I had just come back from seeing him. I just said I want to get married and I don't care how it is. But FI calmed me down and said if we dn't do it this way you we will regret it. He alwasy knows what to say. Take a deep breath, relax and step away for a moment. We are here anyway!

Re: Am I the only one?...

Take it one step at a time. Don't feel rushed and pressured into making all these decisions at once. You have plenty of time!!!!! When I think about it all, I get very stressed and overwhelmed, but when I think about it piece by piece, vendor by vendor, it seems more manageable.
