Who CAN'T STAND the LI Weddings lingo? I'm sorry but I REFUSE to call my bridesmaids BMs or Save the dates STDs!!! I will not refer to my fiance as a DH or an FH or abbreviate 'bouquet' as boK!!!!!! I just think it's so ridiculously corny. Is there anyone with me out there?

I dont find it corney at all!! most message boards have their lingo. its so much easier and i am lazy lol it does drive me nuts sometimes i start talking like that ourside liw lol but only to FH BMs and MOH i like it alot i love out cult and our SEC LANG

not trying to put anyone down... It took me forever to figure out what the hell an FH is or a DH... and when I hear BM I think of 'bowel movement' and when I hear 'STD' I think of 'sexually transmitted disease' hahaha

Anyway I know I can't be the only one out there who feels this way....

I think it has more to do with the fact that my engaged/married friends have been using this lingo in our everyday conversations before I got engaged and joined LI Weddings - and it annoyed me when I had to sit there and not know what the hell they were talking about!!!!

I'm such a spaz, I didn't know there was a CHAT LINGO list. I had NO clue what DH meant. I agree it's just like easier abbreviating or as my Maid of Honor and I would say 'Abreeeeeevs' ha ha.

The thing that's really lame is that I sometimes use the chat lingo with my friends over IM or email and they're like RH? FH? STD? Ha ha!

Why don't you go discuss your HM with your FFIL and your BP, make sure that they are all on the same page, and while you're at it, why don't you look into a DOC and pick your DOJ OK?

Like I said- I'm not bashing anyone... LI Weddings is great- and I didn't realize people would take it so personally.

I honestly thought I'd have more girls out there who agree with me- and I'm sure there are plenty but they're probably not the ones posting a lot.

I do understand how it's become a cult/secret language among some of you. I get it- it's cool... just not me.

But saying you don't have enough time to type something is silly- if u have time to write 20,000 posts- you have time to write the full word 'bridesmaid' or 'fiance' which probably takes a millisecond longer to type out!!! =)

I think the lingo really helps. I wouldnt want to be spelling everything out. That would be crazy. It seemed corny at first but now its the best! Isnt any worse than OMG, ***, LOL, LMAO, BFF, etc...

I bet you use some of those.

Its not like anyone uses the LIW lingo to be 'cool'
