that cringes at the thought of a surprise bridal shower--- my mom wanted it to be a surprise, but im the type that i want my hair done, my makeup, its not the surprise its the dirty hair that i would totally flip at
so shes all mad that i dont want a surprise and fianlly told me when- i just want to be dressed appropriately, i know you can give someone your dress, i want my hair done right, my makeup on, i feel like therepictures im going to have forever---- isnt the surprise thing a little, well really, who has a surprise shower nowadays
am i being a brat? alll i wanted to know was what day, where and eveything about it can be surprise, as long as im dressed and i like the way i look ill b happy haha

I dont want one at all..and imagine MINE. I walk in...I know maybe...6 people there and there will be 50... no one speaks english lol.
honestly I LOVE my FMIL but I know she's gonna try to throw me one bc my mom and MOH wont.

That was the one thing I actually demanded about my shower - that it be a surprise. I know it's going to be at my mother's house and I requested a Napoleon Cake from a certain place but other than that I don't want to know a single detail about it!
I plan on purchasing an outfit for it early and leaving it at my mother's house (dress, shoes and all) so that when I do go to the house and it happens to be my shower, I can go upstairs and change. I know my couin/BM Laura will help me do my hair and makeup when I get there so I'm not worried about that

I totally agree with you! I personally believe that surprises about wedding stuff are NEVER a good idea. I want to be involved with as much as I can be because you only get to do it once!
My FMIL tried to surprise me with engagement party invites, but thank god I found out coz she was sending them to print with the wording all formatted incorrectly!

Nope, you're not alone. I insisted that I know the date of my shower. My mom wasn't happy about it, but everything else was a surprise!

i do want to look nice and be comfortable. But mine is definitely going to be a surprise. There was no way around that. My MOH and bridesmaids are planning this party for me, it's more up to them what they want to do. isn't it?

I have the same exact fear.. DIRTY HAIR.. theres no way to come back from that.. like ok if I showered this morning and someone brought a dress for me to change into OK whatever, but what if I had dirty greasy hair cause its a sunday and I didn't feel like showering.. this is why, I know my date.. I just don't know the place or any of the other details.. No one but my mom knows I know my date either

Ok so.. beyond just not wanted to look like who did it and ran, I dont trust anyone to make good decisions LOL .
I feel like I need to have a say in where it is, the things I want, etc.. That may sound totally bitchy but I have been to soo many showers and I there are certain things i want and Dont want..
PLUS- I realllly hate surprises!

I already told my mom I want to help plan mine and make my own invitations and centerpieces, etc. like I did for my engagement party, so I'm hoping she listens to me! lol bcuz i HATE surprises!

Ur not the only one. As I've said before I have been a bridesmaid more times than I care to say but none of them have been a surprise. The theme, place, games, gifts, cute little things we did there were a surprise but not the date.
