Am I the only one...

who wants to go dress shopping alone?? At least for the first time so I can get a feel for what it's like.

I'm having anxiety thinking about these salespeople being extremely overwhelming for me. I want it to be a fun experience and I definitely want my mom and some friends coming with me along the way but....maybe not for the first time.

Does that sound strange? Has anyone thought about or done this?

I think I want to take my mom, but I feel this way when it comes to my sisters. I am one of five girls in my family and they are all very different, especially when it comes to styles. Even now when I'm looking at possible BM's dresses they are all on different pages! Think I might not tell them when I plan on going

Honestly, do whatever you want to do! Look around and, if you find something you like, show them if you want to. If you really end up wanting to do it completely alone and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, tell them you want the dress to be a surprise for everyone!

Honestly, I went and my roommate met me there so it was low key. It was nice to go without a peanut gallery at first!

Not wrong at all.. I went with my mom & a close friend tho.. I didn't want to go with a lot of people bc I didn't want many opinions & wanted to only try on not thinking I would find 'the dress'

I think it is best to go with alone or just with one person the first time. Someone who you trust and know won't overwhelm you.

Definitely not strange. I didn't want a big group or anything, so I just went with my mom and I actually got my dress that night. Much less stressful with just one person there.

I went to Davids by myself for the first time. Basically I just wanted to get an idea of the silhouettes that looked good on my body before going to the other stores with my mom so that I wasn't wasting my time.

i felt that way when i brought my bm and her mom (my 2nd mom growing up) and my mom all at once. the day i bought my dress it was just my parents and i (with my dad being hands off and carefree) and i think that is one of the reasons i bought it that day--- bc no one else was around to put in their 2 cents!

i had searcheed for dresses for so long on the computer that by the time i had to go actually look at dresses i knew just what i wanted. but the first time i went i took one BM w me. i didnt want a huge production if i was just looking...

Nope!! I only took my mom & aunt.. I have two sisters who were offended i didnt tell them i was going. But Im shy and they make a scene and are loud lol I felt more comfortable going without them and bparty

I agree 100%...very happy that i went about it with just a friend first. I was able to figure out what I LIKED first. I figured out shapes I didn't like on me, materials I liked, and then I knew all of that....and had a standard(although I was still open to try on anything) I went with the whole platoon.

I went with one or two at a time. I really needed the other opinions. But thats me. If you can make a decision without anyone else, then go for it. But if you feel you want other people's opinions on what you try on then just take a few who you think are there to help you, not just for the fun of being in a bridal shop.
