Re: Am I the only one....

I found my dress very easily-but the BM dresses are driving me up a wall. They all start to look the same and i'm starting to think that no dresses exist with sleeves or some sort of one. grrrrr good thing i have time on my hands & willing bridesmaids to help me!

That's the problem!! They DO start to look alike!

I found my dress...but I'm not 100% sure about it.

Ugh, I hear ya. I found 3 'the one' dresses for me after trying 60 on...I finally found and bought 'IT' on Saturday.

As for BM dresses...now I can really focus on that since I'm done. I know I want black and tea length - there's one I'm waiting to see in person, that all my BMs love - if they still love it after trying it on, then I'm done with that too! Yay.

It's hard b/c they do all start to look alike and designers area always coming out with new styles. I limited myself with designers though - I am fond of Watters & Watters, Jim Hjelm & Amsale - so that's a little easier for me/us.

Don't stress though, Cat - you still have time...try just focusing on yourself for now...once that's done you'll get an idea for what you want for the BMs.

Cat, since you live in Brooklyn did you try Valentina's? I ordered my gown and my BM dresses there. They offer great service and a great selection.

Re: Am I the only one....

I thought I was the only one looking for BM dresses with sleeves!! It is impossible. The few that do have sleeves are so plain and/or ugly. I am thinking of having them made. My aunt's sister-in-law is a seamstress and has done BM dresses hundreds of times...

The way I did it was like this.
first I wanted to get a dress the fit everyone's body type...so i decided on and A-line bottom. it narrowed it down alot. When I went to places I only acked for A-line dresses. I took my sister (MOH) and she tried on a lot of dresses...we kept narrowing it down to finaly the one that she and I both liked.. and thats how I picked it.
I did alot of research online and in magizines before I even began to look at the stores.

just be patient you'll find the dress

Don't limit yourself to what they advertise - the seamstress can always add or remove things to the dress - they just order extra fabric from the same ream that the dress is cut from.

The Bridesmaid dresses were easy for me. I decided on Aline because that flatters all body shapes But, my bridal gown ....it took me forever to find 'the dress' I had 2 'the dress' But, I knew that when I tried on the last dress that it was the dress! I must of tried on like 60 dresses though. I was so frustrated!
