Am I the only one NOT doing a theme wedding?? I think I may want to do one now!!

I am starting to think that im the only person who doesn't really have a theme for their wedding??
I have my color - and planned the flowers around that..but aside from that I have no real theme..

FH and I have our movie night almost every Friday.we own over 200 DVD's and one of our first dates was a movie... so i was thinking of incorporating that into the reception...like movie clap board or ticket stubs as place cards.... instead of a card box, use a HUGE popcorn bucket....but aside from that, can't think of anything..

If you do a theme, does EVERYTHING about the wedding have to be centered around it? Is it too late since my invitations are just plain ??

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated by this very UNCREATIVE bride to be!

i definitely don't think you need to incorporate your theme into every little detail. My sister had kind of a 'Fairy tale' theme because she's obsessed with Cinderella. lol. She had Pumpkin Horse & Carriage deal as centerpieces, castle cake topper, fairytale music, but that was pretty much it. It wasn't as tho every detail had Cinderella in it. That would have been a bit much.

My friend did a Sunflower theme. She just basically had sunflowers in her (and our) bouquets, on her cake, scattered down the aisle and on the tables at the reception.

For mine, it's a Christmas Theme. Gonna have a mistle toe hanging up, and my cake & card box both look like a pile of C-mas gifts. Favors are mini c-mas trees. But I'm not going over board with that. I'm not gonna have every little detail of the night be centered around Christmas. lol.

But my good friend just got married and i don't think she had a theme at all. And it was a beautiful wedding without it. So do whatever you want with that. It'll be a great wedding either way.

I'm not doing a theme either. But if I'd say go for it if that's what you want to do.

I also tink that the movie idea is reall cute! I love it. You could definitely play up the movie idea. You can make each table a scene from a 'love movie' and put that with your table numbers. That would be really cute.

I'm using bright, tropical colors, but I dont think I'm going to have a specific theme.

I have a theme but I'm not incorporating it in to every aspect of the wedding. My theme is a white wine theme and we're tying it in with the stationery (using the same bunch of green grapes on everything) and we're having a Long Island wine tasting at our CH. But our favors are not wine-related (although the favor tags will have our monogram and a bunch of grapes) and lots of things have nothing to do with wine.

I think it would be awesome if you incorporated movies or Hollywood in to your wedding. Not every single thing has to be centered around movies but you could name the tables after some of your favorite movies and use those cute hollywood-themed placecards. That would be very nice!

ETA: I also love, love, LOVEEE the playbill programs!

I had a pink seashell theme...but I've been to many weddings where there wasn't a theme. It's not necessary, but if you want to, go for it!! I love the movie idea...such cute pics above!! And it's not too late at all just because you sent out the invites. Not everything has to be centered around your theme....one of my friends got married this summer and had a sand dollar theme, and her invites had nothing to do with sand dollars.

I do not have a theme, I'm just using my colors, and since it is the summer and our rh is on the wayer we might do a cp that has sand and shells and rose petals. I do not think that you need a theme, but the movie idea is cute. I would not go to over board though, this could risk your wedding looking like a sweet 16. I love the table names being movies, and the playbill program and the ticket stub place cards, but the popcorn bucket for a card box might be too much, just my opinion and I hope i didnt offend you.
