Am I the only one NOT doing a theme wedding?? I think I may want to do one now!!

I am starting to think that im the only person who doesn't really have a theme for their wedding??
I have my color - and planned the flowers around that..but aside from that I have no real theme..

FH and I have our movie night almost every Friday.we own over 200 DVD's and one of our first dates was a movie... so i was thinking of incorporating that into the reception...like movie clap board or ticket stubs as place cards.... instead of a card box, use a HUGE popcorn bucket....but aside from that, can't think of anything..

If you do a theme, does EVERYTHING about the wedding have to be centered around it? Is it too late since my invitations are just plain ??

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated by this very UNCREATIVE bride to be!

You dont have to do a theme necessarily. I didnt have one just centered things around my colors. The movie idea sounds really cute. You can make your table numbers be movie names and the placecards be movie tickets. There is a lot that you can do but I dont think that you have to incorporate the theme into every little thing for your wedding (at least IMO).

I'm not doing a theme either. I just have my colors and are kinda basing it on that.

we don't really have a 'theme' I am just making it all a culmination of all the things that we love.

We are having some things Mets like the Cake topper, and mr.met coming to the RH, and I have Mr.Met garters. Then b/c we both love music (FH is also in a band) and since it's b/c of music that we met (We both went to the same concerts for this one band all the time) , so I am going to make each table number into a band that we both like, or bands that we like. One table will be the 'Metallica' table, and another 'Social Distortion'.

That is about it, we aren't really going with anything pretty much.

i didnt have a theme for mine --- i had my colors, and i wanted everything to look elegant, but no theme

agreed ! some of it can be cute , if it is done without overkill
but mostly it reminds me of a bar/bat mitszva to have a 'theme'

We didn't really have a theme at all either.....then it all started to somewhat form a theme.

We are getting married in November so we had the girls in truffle brown and the guys in chocolate....we wanted bright fall colors for the BM. We ended up finding invites with leaves on them, mini bottle of turning leaf merlot and then the centerpieces.....tall vases (kind of look like wine glasses but really tall), with silk leave and floating candles in them.....silk leaves and rose petals on the table, so it ended up becoming a very romantic, warm rustic theme.....sometimes it just happens that way.....it wasn't even our intent!

I still wouldn't even call ours a themed wedding....just warm and rustic...we really focused on our colors moreso than anything!

I dont really have a theme either... I just have colors and everything is falling into place b/c of that. But I do think thtat the movie theme is really cute!

we didn't quite have a theme till recently
after getting the favors and CP everything was champaigne glasses so we started going with a army/champagne theme

you could do the boxes of candy like they sell when you go to the movies.... put sone ribbon around the edges and a monogram tag with some kind or saying like thanks for coming to our show or something like that.

We kind of have a theme. Were having a fall wedding and we LOVE the fall leaf colors so we centered everything around those colors. The invites and favors have leaves on them and we'll have some silk leaves scattered here and there but nothing over kill.

There is no rule that you need to have a theme. I don't necessarly have a theme..I'm doing pastel colors...mainly blue and purple with a hint of pink. Then I decided to add a butterfly here and there..since FH always calls me his butterfly. But, it's not like I'm going to have butterflies everywhere! lol. Just one in each CP, maybe one in my BOK... very scarse. I wouldn't go crazy. Just go with what makes YOU happy and expressing YOU and your FH...

you don't HAVE to have a theme but the movie thing sounds cute and you don't have to go overboard. not every little details has to be movie themed, ya know. Here are some things I found.
