Am I the only one/ what would you do?

who keeps having obstacles that make it difficult to plan my wedding. First the church now photos?
Okay what would you do. I have a situation. I booked a photo company back in march. Now at first everything was great, I felt good about them. But after a couple of weeks I tried reaching them and they would call me back but it was always after I made a couple of phone calls. I felt like I was tracking them down. Okay so I told them I was going to cancel due to this. The photographer and women I booked with gave me their cell phones to avoid further phone tag issues. So I called last week and left a message on the studios voicemail couldnt locate the cellphone number. After 2 days I had to call them again and finally I get the girl who booked me, said she was just about to call me, okay yeah right. Anyway she gave me the cellphone #s again. So I tried calling my photographer today he told me he would call me back, I was trying to schedule epics. He never called me back!!!

My dilema is I want to fire their as@@es at this point but I left a 375 deposit that I cannot get back. What should I do? Take the lost or perhaps try to work things out with them.
Name will remain nameless on this photo company.

Sorry so long.....

i would give the guy a day to get back to you...and if u dont hear from him, i would then think about switching photographers.

i know you dont want to lose your deposit, nobody would. But, if you cant get it back, then i would look at it as you rather lose the few hundred then have to continue to worry about this photographer...

i would def wait to see if they call you back first, bc maybe he is busy with other clients right now...

good luck

I know how you feel right now -- we had a similar problem with our florist. We cancelled. Here's the thing: although you're going to loose $375, you'll gain the peice of mind of knowing that your photographer isnt going to cr@p out on you on your wedding day. I'm sure you've said to yourslef already 'omg...i hope he doesnt do this on our wedding day' or 'if he's this hard to contact now, whats it goign to be like right before the wedding when I need to talk to him?'. You shouldnt have to worry like that! If you're not 100% confident that he's reliable, its not worth spending a couple thousand dollars and having things go wrong. Go with your gut

375 is nothing to walk away from and take a loss. For some strange reason people who work with Brides seem to think that you loose your mind or all common sense when you're getting married. Do with them the same thing you'd do with any other business that gives you the run around. Keep track of your payment made. Keep records of all the phone calls that you've made and any other communications. This is a stressful time especially since you are investing so much money into your wedding. People may say dont think of the money but when things are going wrong and you've made a HUGE deposit that could've gone to someone that would do the work the way you ASKED. It is a stressful thing to worry about. Take a deep breathe and talk to your FH and take the necessary steps to find a new photographer and to get a your $$$ BACK!! Hope this helps?

I lost 1000 when I canceled a photographer I was unsure about after booking them. I think it was the best decision I made. At first I was bummed about losing the 1000 but that was something I got over realy quickly because I had peace of mind after that.

Go with your gut feeling. 375 isn't all that much to lose to have peace of mind.

I definately agree about trying to get your money back. FH and I were able to with our florist. Its alot of work and a lot of phone calls and back and forth--but if you can, its definately worth it. Even if you have to play the 'I'll report you to the BBB' card....every penny counts.

Re: Am I the only one/ what would you do?

Thanks so much everyone. I really appreciate this. I called them again today to express my feelings. I spoke with the girl who booked me and she went on and on with the excuses. I told her Im very unhappy with the service and wish to cancel, she asked me if I wanted another photographer I said no. She stated she was going to look into my complaint and call me back today. Guess what this was this morning and still no phone call back as of yet.

Why is this happening to me?? Everytime I get one thing out the way another comes my way. Im so mad right now....

Send them a notorized letter stating your cancellation. If you called them from a cell phone record the phone calls. When you speak to someone take their name and write down the date and time you spoke with them. If you sent them a check make the steps to cancel it. If they processed it then get a copy of the check from them. If in another week or so you dont hear from them or they dont send you a letter, keep going with your wedding preperations and if this money is still that important then you may have to take steps with small claims court. Sounds annoying but its sad when these people want to pocket money for services they havent provided!!!

Thats a tough one..because its a lot of money that can go to waste...thats why I never like leaving such hefty deposits..but I know its what they require..I left a $290 dep on my photographer and although they havent done anything to make me want to cancel...I just have a bad feeling about them...dont ask me why...in any case..I dont want to cancel because its almost $300...However..you can give them another shot and let them know ur concerns..if they dont respond then cancel..
