Am I the only one who didn't like Napoleon Dynamite?
DH and I watched it last night and I HATED it.....I thought it was plain awful - and he seemed to like it. I've heard from so many people that it was sooooo funny.....but I was really disappointed. Am I the only one? Am I insane?

no, just kidding! i didn't really like it at first, but towards the end, i realized how cute it was and dh and i appreciated it more!

I left the room and DH finished watching it. I just kept waiting for it to get better, and I gave up about halfway through. Maybe I just didn't 'get it' and there didn't seem to be much of a story either.

After hearing my BIL raving about this movie, DH and I rented it one night. We couldn't finish it. We just kept looking at each other wondering when it was going to get funny. We were kind of pissed that we wasted 45 minutes hoping this flick would improve.

I find that the longer I am away from it the funnier it gets.
DH and I HATED it when we first watched it - we were wondering what the big deal was.
But it's been a few weeks now and we saw it in the video store and started laughing about it.
But I still don't think it's as great as the rest of the world seems to think it is.

My friend and I rented it and we hated it!!! maybe because being teachers, we see that kind of behavior everyday and just dont find it funny? I'm not sure. But i was not a fan..

i think its better if you watch it with someone who thinks its funny.
while watchign it it DID drag on, but i love it. it has teh BEST one liners!

I feel your pain - I was very pissed that I wasted the hour and a half watching the whole thing waiting for it to get better!!
I'm just glad I'm not the only one....I've heard from so many people that it was amazing.....and I was a little scared when I didn' tlike it. I thought I'd lost my sense of humor.....

Well I didn't watch the whole thing. There was something wrong with the DVD I borrowed from the library. Supposedly the funniest part is the dance scene?

The dance scene is classic. I can see why this movie is not for everyone though. It struck me more funny the second time around, to be honest.

Well, it's completely up to you. I wouldn't have watched it again, but I had a friend who was a Napolean fanatic and she insisted that I watch it with her. It was a lot better watching it with somebody that got such a kick out of it.

Hmmm, I watched it with FH, who found it hysterical, and I still didn't like it
Again, I think it's the whole teacher thing, I don't know. I just found the whole thing very unfortunate.

In my opinion.....the dance scene was nothing special. It was dancing. it was a large man dancing.....I find nothing funny about that.
