I was just wondering if I am the only out of town bride who's getting married on LI?
It's been a challenge planning a wedding at the Fox Hollow from Pasadena, CA. Ha ha ha.
I've done everything I could through the internet, including ordering the bridesmaid dresses!

I think that's great... sounds like you got a lot done from the other side of the country.
I wouldn't say I'm an OOT Bride too much... I justed moved to LI in FH's house and the wedding is in Jersey. Just the next state over. LOL

i'm OOT (originally from LI) but within driving distance. it's been a challenge because we have to cram in tons of appointments whenever we go home! but who doesn't love a little stress?

I feel your pain, I am in DC trying to plan a wedding in Rockville Centre!
I am going to be in NY almost every weekend for fittings and showers and all that jazz - at least I will get airline miles out of it!

FH and I got engaged in August. Flew back in Sept. Booked the hall. Flew back in Nov. Booked the flowers and DJ. Flew back in December. Booked the photographer. Flew back in January. Booked the officiant and had my shower.
Insane!
Still, so worth it. I can't wait to be married to my guy.

I'm in DC too! Check out Southwest, they have $78 roundtrip flights!

like mskittynj, i live in PA but its more like a 3 hr drive and its actually been kinda tough even just that distance. esp for cake and florists bc you cant really do much over the phone. i keep having to plan day trips and squeeze in as much as possible in a day!

I am in Albuquerque! We booked everything during one week when we were home last August and another when we were home over Christmas. We are going home again in March for our tasting!

I live in Las Vegas right now. I wanted my wedding to be where my real home is, LI. It is difficult, but my whole family is on the island and I try to come home every couple of months. I would move home in a heartbeat if I could get a teaching job and my FH is video photojournalist so NY would be great for his career too. Unfortunately, it is close to impossible to find an elementary job back home. I teach ESL right now and love it. Hopefully something will open up soon for me.

Yeah the back and forth is nuts. It's worth it though to know that there won't be any major issues at the wedding. Small stuff happens.
