Why do designers make their dress sizes so crazy??! I havn't bought my dress yet, but I am so nervous to get fitted for fear that they will order me a huge size! I have seen so many girls post who are a size 4/6 and then take a size 10. What about those who are normally a size 10?
I know it is the fit that is important..but there is just something about needing a couple sizes bigger than normal that just makes me want to freak out!!
I am so going on a diet. Like starting today!!

like you said, don't even pay attention to that. Just know this is something most brides do have to do, most of us had to get sizes bigger than what we normally wear. Once you get the dress, it won't even matter and you won't even care.
It effected me for about a minute and then i was over it.
You're not crazy wedding dresses run way small it seems - don't worry about what size u have to get...

Makes no sense, I know!
But dont freak out about the size. I normally wear a size 6 and they ordered me a 12.

No you're not crazy. I was told by tailors that bridal dresses go two sizes up since the dresses are a tighter fit. I'm a size 6 but for my wedding dress, I ordered a size 10 (according to the fitting chart) and I had to get it fitted twice. On the day of my wedding, it was still looser than I expected but luckily the built in corset boning hold up to stay put throughout the day. Work out to help tone your body but don't fret too much over your weight. Most brides lose weight w/o realizing due to stress before their wedding. I lost weight even though I barely worked out before my wedding. So just kick back and relax and def enjoy the rest of your wedding planning, best of luck!

Dress sizes are like a totally different scale... so don't worry about it!!

dont stress out...my designer of my gown ..Alita Graham runs true to size---not all designers make them smaller

I'm a size 12 and my dress tag says 16. I'm glad it was big because it was fun having it taken in... again... and again. lol
Tags mean nothing. That's why it's sometimes fun to shop for clothes in another country. Puts aside all the silly feelings of why is this number so high!

Try not to let it bother you...almost all of the designers make their dresses 2 sizes up form regular street sizes. In fact the only time I heard otherwise was from this post lol...take heart that all of us are or did go through this scary experience!! I am a size 0 and had to get a 4, my sister is a 2 and had to get a 6, and it happened to every girl I knew....it doesn't mean you need to go on a diet, just that the designers are messed up lol.

It's better for the dress to be too big than too small.
At least you when it's too big they can tailor it to your body so it fits like a glove & it's alllll yours

Dont let a silly # freak you out at all! Even my BM's were complaining about the sizes they had to order their dresses in just because the numerical sizes run soooo small! Im a size 2/4 I needed an 8 in my dress and its TINY! Like it fit like a glove! So DONT PAY attention to it AT ALL! My girlfriend who is the same size as me, took a size 10 in her BM dress and TOTALLY FREAKED! I had to talk her off a ledge as well! LOL So dont worry its just a number! =)) The dresses are on a VERY different scale from regular clothes.
