My wedding is in the beginning of July and I have not registered yet or really planned on doing it until after new years. Is this to late??? I see so many girls that are getting married months after me and they are registered . I guess I just felt like we should wait ... I honestly thought that was one of the last things you do!! Am I wrong? should we register sooner? I THINK my shower will be sometime in April... how long do you give people to but up ur registry? Sorry, I'm rambling - I just had no idea people did this so soon

Dont worry , Im a june 1 bride and I havent registered yet either. I will wait for Jan or so, you have plenty of time besides, save the best for last

You can do it in january. that is fine. but don't wait to long. If it's in april then invites go out about 1 -2 months before so people will need the info for your registeries and all. So try and do it by january the latest.

i think you're fine, i'm 7/12 and i wasn't planning on registering until the end of january beginning of feb. my shower will be after 4/15 (i work for an accountant tax deadlines prevail over showers)
by feb. the stores could have new stuff ya know.

if your shower is april make sure you have 3 registries done around february, depending on when they send out invitations.

we registered early because we had an engagement party and most people gave us registry gifts.
one of the downsides of registering early is that some items might be discontinued, so keep that in mind!

whoa, thanks girls... I really thought I was alone in not having done that! This site is awesome, but every once in awhile it freaks me out LOL . I come on and an 09er is talking about make up trails and I'm like 'OMG... I'm doing this wedding planning all wrong!!' hahaha

i wouldnt worry - id just make sure that you are registered before you think your shower invites are going out.........
my shower will probably be in late september or october so we'll probably register in July.....i dont like doing anything too soon - i feel like it takes all the fun out of it!

We registered because people kept saying 'when are you going to register' -- we have gotten a few e-gifts from it (we didn't have a party).
I will be monitoring mine for the next few months so if things become discontinued or I find something I like better I can change it up.
My shower will be on the earlier side too -- aug probably!

Don't worry, you have PLENTY of time. No need for you to register until after the new year. Especially since stores start to change over their inventory after the new year w/the change of seasons. If you register this early you'd still have to go back and review them a few months before to make sure that some of your things haven't been discontinued so you're better off just starting fresh next year.

I dont think you are regestering too late.. THings get disontinued so its easier to hold off as late as possible. The only reason I did mine so early is because I like that type of stuff for bdays and Christmas (I know im cheesy)

I am registering next week for my sept. wedding because our e-party is coming up next month (even though i'd rather have the cash)
but i thought if people wanted to get me xmas presents off my registry that would be nice too
