Am I wrong?

Am I wrong?

It's a tricky situation. Personally, I don't know why she would want to bring two children, especially so young to a crowded restaurant at night (and I have a baby). God knows what you're exposing them to (germs, etc.) and wouldn't she like some 'adult' company for a change? Are you close enough to her where she will view your honesty objectively? If not, I would maybe suck it up and use it as a platform for any future get togethers with her. If it works out, then you know it's no big deal. If the kids turn into supermonsters, lesson learned.

I have some friends who I STILL cringe when I hear their kids are coming, even if Amber is going.

I'd definately reschedule and spin it by saying that you should reshcedule for a better night when they will be able to enjoy themselves with a nice dinner and some drinks. Maybe ask if they need assistance finding a baby sitter or something. I know that as a new mom myself, the last thing I would want to do would be to take a newborn to a restaurant to spend an evening with friends.

I would go with her kids, but thats just me. With a newborn, maybe she's not ready to use a sitter. If you aren't comfortable with going to a restaurant, why don't you offer to bring dinner into her place so that you can be more comfortable?

Either way, you should talk to her about how you feel. She wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable.
