This morning I called FH and we were talking, and then he said 'oh my mom wants to come with us later for the flowers' (we are seeing our sample centerpiece) I got sooooooooooooooooooo mad!!!!!!!!
She is too much in our business and he lets her. I said, her bouquet is not going to be made...there is no reason for her to come.
'she wants to talk to them about what she can do for her bouquet.'
SO annoying...Seriously. I am really annoyed.
Am I wrong? I just dont understand why she puts her nose into everything!

Re: Am I Wrong?
'about what she can do...'
about what??? what does she want to do. If she's not paying for it, then there's no need for her to be there. Just tell your FH to tell his mother that this is something you wanted to do just the two of you so that EVERYONE (including her) will be pleasantly surprised by the flowers at the wedding. And that's that. No discussion.

Re: Am I Wrong?
be nice and polite but explain to her (i would call her directly, FH's never seem to handle things well) that while you are 'flattered' she is so interested in the wedding planning, you and FH are just going to go on your own.
if you take pictures maybe you can show them to her later so she doesnt feel so bad lol
good luck!

Re: Am I Wrong?
I think if she wanted to come just to be involved its not weird. My mom came with me once and FMIL, my mom and FH grandma came once....
If she wanted to have any input i might be annoyed, but if she wanted to come just to see... i dont think it would bother me....

Re: Am I Wrong?
I might be the only one saying this, but I wouldn't be annoyed. She wants to see what she can do probably regarding the price...maybe she thinks she can get them to go down on the price...She just wants to see the CP...if you love the CP and she has something to say just be polite and say how you and FH really love it and think you will go with it anyway. Maybe she is just really excited for you guys and just wants to be a part of the wedding process. Does she have any daughters?

I think that sounds really nice - that she wants to be involved. I don't really understand why that would make you angry?

Re: Am I Wrong?
its nice if she wants to come because she is excited for the wedding - thats sweet BUT if she wants to come for any other reason then i would say no - for instance FH and I have done everything on our own but we have showed FILS the websites of our photo/video, pictures of things we like and the things that we are doing - we try to include them because they are excited - we arent showing them for their opinion and they know and understand that - but it makes them feel good to know a little bit of what's going on....

I agree...i've brought my fmil for a ton of things for her to take part in it too. I think its really special that she wants to be involved and that shes taking an interest.

Is she paying for it? If so, she has a right to have input BUT not dictate ....it Also depends what kind of person she is....is She controlling and opinionated? Then I wouldn't want her there either! If she isn't controlling then I would let her come....at Least she has an interest in your wedding, my MIL has none !

Because she got involved with EVERYTHING with this wedding...I have not had fun planning b/c she has to put her 2 cents in. She has a daughter...let her do it with her daughter...I love her dont get me wrong, but I want she is too involved with everything.

She is not paying for it, but you definitely described her well....controllling and opinionated.

I would be annoyed too...I would just tell FH that you are really looking forward to doing this part just the two of you. Sometimes its nice to make decisions on your own with out parents putting their two cents in. For those that said it was nice...if it really went down how she is saying...then it seems that the FMIL wants to pick out her bo-k not get invovled in the excitment of the center pieces....I think she should let you decide what her bo k will look like...

Re: Am I Wrong?
I think it's weird that you would get mad about her wanting to join you? Why is it a problem, because she wants to be involved and give her opinion? Just because she gives an opinion or advice doesn't mean you have to take it.
If this is how you react to her wanting to be involved in your wedding plans, imagine how you'll be with her when she wants to be a part of your child's life.
Take a deep breath and look at the big picture. You're in it for the long run with this woman. Don't sweat the small stuff, and try appreciating it instead. You're lucky she wants to join you, instead of being miserable that her son is marrying you.

well in that case, you have to put your foot down and stand up to her ( FMIL) tell her you want to share this with YOUR mom alone. If you don't do it now, BEFORE you get married she will always be all in your business. my FMIL tells us what to do , but has no interest in participating in anything, so i am better off that she has no interest since she is such a b*tch . I finally told her off on sunday and it was GREAT , i feel so much better!

I bit my toung for a LONG time, everything I or we do isn't good enough ... the final straw was her telling me i 'had to send our children to private jewish school or she would never talk to me again' I said-' do you promise!'
anyway back to you, i really think it depends on the relationship you have with her and how much you want her involved ...also how does she know you have an appointment with the florist?
