So my Aunt bought an ivory dress for my Grandma to wear for the wedding....Even after my Mom told her that was a no-no! Is it silly that I'm annoyed or is it justified that I feel a bit disrespected b/c they knew I didn't want anyone else to be in ivory?

Well... I'd be irritated with my aunt who should have known better. However, I know that older people, sometimes, want what they want and that's it... so I don't know what kind of input your grandma had... or how her health is, so was it an issue of the style of the dress being easy for her to wear/put on and it only came in ivory? If there was a reason, then I'd be less irritated... if not, I'd still be annoyed.... but it's Grandma! So I'd do my best to choose to not fight that battle...
If Auntie had bought herself an ivory dress, now THAT would probably be a fight to the core.

I agree. I would be annoyed at your aunt bc she obviously knew you did not want anyone else in ivory yet totally disregarded your wishes. But, it is your grandma, so I am not sure I would make a big deal out of it.

Thanks ladies! I don't blame Grandma in any way but my Aunt knew about the color thing. I think she was just looking to quickly find something to buy her and didn't care if it came in another color.

Bad Aunt!!!! Why did she think that was ok? My FMIL got a dress that is the same color as the bridal party after I asked her not too. She went out and got it anyway. I told her to return it. She is not part of the bridal party.

I'd be annoyed at my Aunt if she knew and did it anyway...then again my Grandma is wearing a cream pantsuit and it doesn't bother me at all, so maybe I'm not the best reference point.
