Am I wrong?

Am I wrong?

Last weekend FH and I picked out the tuxes. I had the girl at Men's Warehouse put in the computer that my dad and my ffil could pick which ever they choose. My dad told me he really wants my mom and I to tell him what color vest and tie he should wear.

My Future in laws were away last weekend so we didn't tell them about it until tonight. Well FFIL said 'Do I have to wear what the groomsmen are wearing?' I told him exactly what I had the girl do. So he goes 'well do I need to go to the same place?' I told him it was Mens Warehouse. My FMIL was telling him where there is one. A few minutes goes by and he goes 'Do they sell suits or maybe I could get one at Jcpenny?' I ignored this because FH and I were looking something up on the computer. My FMIL then says my FH's Grandpa is wearing a tux.

I didn't put two and two together until now. My FFIL is thinking of wearing a suit to his son's wedding! Is it me or is it wrong of me to be annoyed with that? Shouldn't he be wearing a tux especially if my father is wearing one and my FH's grandfather is wearing one?

I said something to FH but he doesn't really care about that stuff. Do I just drop it and see what happens? Also, if his dad does get a suit instead of a tux, should that bother me so much? Wouldn't he feel stupid that all the main men in the wedding are wearing tuxes and he is in a suit?

Sorry this is so long. What do you girls think?

I agree that the Father of the Groom should be in a tux ... I have a feeling I will be in the same situation as you though. FH warned me that his father will most likely not be 'formal' ... I'm not thrilled about it.

This actually brings up a question, where do you put a boutonniere if there is no tux??

Doesn't a suit still have a spot for a boutonniere?

FFIL asked about wearing a suit he had. And FMIL asked about wearing a short dress. I didn't even answer I said do what you want and feels right. AKA- No!!! FFIL ended up getting one of the $99 dollar ones at mens wearhouse and FMIL got a dress. I def. think the fathers should be in tuxes.

I agree that he should be wearing a tux. Our fathers are wearing the same tux as the groomsmen, but they are wearing black vests and ties.

FH's dad isn't wearing a tux. He didn't wear one to his other son's wedding either. It's his choice. I don't really care. At the end of the day he has to be happy with how he looks in the pictures.

Sorry it wouldn't bother me. I could care less as long as they look representable. As a matter of fact I have no idea if FFIL is buying a tux or a suit.
