AM I wrong? Am I being Selfish, stuck up snotty?

So Mike and I went to Mens wearhouse to order the tuxedos. We picked out what we want them to wear and told the guys they have to go get measured and Pay for them. The guys are wearing Lilac Vests. Groom and RB are wearing White vest and we got black vests for the dads and mike grandfather. When Mike tells his dad his dad says how much do the cost? Mike said about 120.00 Well his dad says Ill just wear my own Tuxedo then. WHAT???? No you will wear the one we picked out for u to wear. Besides the fact that the Tuxedo he has is from the 80's and has a cumberbun not the vest that matches the design of all the guys. I can't believe he said that. My mother was like WHAT... We are paying xx,xxx for a wedding and he is crying over 120.00. Now if he had no money that would be a different story... but he makes more money then my father. And hasn't given us a DIME. When we got engaged Mikes mother said I already paid for my daughters wedding so I am done I don't have to pay for anymore. Thats great but you paid for the reception (which was very nice but not for the 'wedding' they paid for their own flowers, photo, limo,church etc etc etc). That would be like one of the Bridesmaids saying Ill just wear my own dress. W T F! Am I wrong. Am I being selfish or sounding stuckup a biatch a baby... I don't mean to but it just really got to me.

I agree with u, he should wear the tux u picked out for him! Dont give in! Its your wedding and everyone in it should wear what u tell them to wear and thats it! Good Luck.

i think that you have every right to be upset. i would be. i think that your fh should insist he rent his tux like everyone else so that everyone matches. i dont think you should be the one that pushes it it should be your fh. good luck i hope it qall works out

I am gonig to disagree. I don't think he has to wear the tux YOU picked out for him. No i wouldn't want him wearing and old 80's style tux but IMO you are being a little selfish..COMPROMISE! Maybe suggest a vest to go with his tux?
My dad is buying his own tux and i have no say in it. I don't care either..i am glad he is happy.

I agree with them (sorry). The fathers don't need to match with the bridal party. Let them wear what they want.

I tend to disagree too...I think I would be upset if he looked completly different...but I would too ..suggest a vest and in the end, there are much bigger things that there will be to worry about...Dont get yourself too upset over this ok?

But this is about hime 'saving' money not about him buying a vest that will match his tux. HE is cheap. If I were in your wedding and I had a beautiful dress that I wore in my bothers wedding would you let me wear that? U see they all are renting the same TUX with the SAME VEST with the SAME Design in it. EVEN my father and Mikes GRANfather.

No-one is going to notice and as far as pictures, how many pictures will his dad be in, and when you show pic, you only usually have say one of his family or of your whole family together...I think in the end its your decision, I just dont want you to get too upset over it...

BY the way his tux is one button double breasted the ones that we picked are two button not double breasted.

Just my two cents...if this is important to you, i think you should let him know how bothered you wold be by him wearing a dirrefent tux and see if you can compromise with him.

and a little story for you.....at my wedding, the tuxedo place gave my brother a totally different jacket (grrrr...we got the money back) it had three buttons, like the rest, but they went much higher and his vest couldnt' be seen....but in the pictures - it isn't even noticeable, and he took it off at the reception anyway.....so i forgot all about it

i understand what you mean but ya gotta deal with it a little..I had the same issues with BM's kinda sorta...but in the end i realized that compromise is best..

I'm starting to learn that I have to chill more than I did at the beginning regarding other people's decisions...That said, my father is wearing his own tux, did not want to rent one, and is not giving any $ for the wedding. His tux was made for him, so I am sure it will look better on him than a rented one, but he also did not want to pay to rent....I actually didn't even think of making my grandfathers rent tuxes (they will wear a suit I am sure, and my g-pa from Florida's will probably be tan or some light color)....Really, how many pics is he even going to be in...The point really is that he is there, and the day is about you, but I would not make a huge issue of this...good luck!
