Am I wrong? Florist question...

Am I wrong? Florist question...

So when I fiiiiiirst picked wedding colors I wanted dark purple flowers. I went to see a sample and everything was LIGHT purple which I specifically said I do not want. There happened to be another sample there at the time with all fall colors that was very pretty and I said I liked that one and changed my whole color scheme... Fast forward to a year later and I realize I only picked that one because I hated the sample that was made for me and I really want dark purple and reds. I go back to the florist, she refuses to make a second sample for me but lists off all of these flowers and says they are what I want and to trust her blah blah blah. So I find out through some other people that they all got second samples from this company, they were just working with a different designer. So I write her a an email and explain that I'm nervous because the colors dont seem right when I look up these kinds of flowers and I would really like to see them together even if they make a smaller sample at least I can have an idea of what I'm getting. So she finally agrees but she seems kind of put off in the email and I'm a little upset. Is it wrong to want to see a sample of what I am getting and not go off of someone's word? What if I show up on the day of my wedding and the flowers are NOT what I wanted. Who would I have to blame then since I never got to see an actual sample? I just don't think I should be made to feel bad because I want to see what my actual flowers will look like!!! Am I wrong?

You are not wrong - your paying for a service and as such you should be able to get what you are asking for, especially if others have as well.

No your not wrong at all! Why cant she just make up a small sample just to see how it looks? You need to see what it looks like.
Can you change designer and go with someone else there? You have every right to change your mind. I changed my mind about flowers 3 times and my florist was more than accommodating.

ITA - you deserve to know exactly what they will provide to you on your wedding day, and you should keep working with them until you are happy.

You are not wrong AT ALL! It's like going to a bridal salon and saying that you want a ball gown and they say-oh ok I know what you want-you don't have to try it on-trust me.
Ummm helllooooo!!!!

Nope, not wrong.

FYI, I too am using dark purple flowers. My hydrangas are a little lighter then I would have liked but my florist said that's just the color they are coming in this year from colombia.

You are most definitely NOT wrong. You are paying a lot of money for your flowers and for her service. It's her job to make sure you are happy with the end result and as a business owner, she she should be more than willing to ensure that you are! I don't get some of these vendors...

no you have every right to want to see what you are spending all that money on. Don't let her make you feel bad. She is just cranky bc it means more work for her...but don't let that stop you from making sure you are getting what you want!
