My friend's boyfriend of 5 years never goes anywhere with her, so even down to my wedding he will not go so instead she always brings her mom. i have never met her mom and honestly i don't want 'strangers' at my wedding, so should i tell her how i feel about no wanting her to bring her mom. or when you send an invite with guest you really have no right to pick the guest. But i am not inviting everyone with a guest only if they are in serious relationships, so i am afraid people will be like why was i not allowed to bring a guest but this one brought her mom....
sorry if its confusing thanks for the help

Re: Am i wrong i need to vent
If you want to specify that you are inviting her and her boyfriend (as opposed to 'and guest'), just address the invite to them by name (for example: Ms. Mary Friend and Mr. John Boyfriend)

Also agreed. Any of my friends that are in serious relationships are not being invited 'with guest.' Both names will be written out on the envelope.

its your friends MOM. shheeeesh u are harsh. and sorry im giong to sound harsh with my response but i dont care
imagine how your friend feels that her weirdo bf doesnt want to go anywhere with her. she is still making that effort to be there for u on your wedding day. so what if she brings her mom? if i were u, id be GLAD she brought her mom instead of her bf.. think about it. if her bf is FORCED to go to your wedding, he'll prob make her leave early.
with her mom there, she'll most likely stay for the whole thing and have a blast.
be careful what u wish for.

if bringing her mom makes her comfortable instead of being alone and uncomfortable i dont think its that bad....its her family and not a stranger i think it will work out.

Re: Am i wrong i need to vent
is she a close friend?!
if not...then i would address only to her if so, i would love to have her mom there.....
and the sexy/loud thing....how bad is it?! do you think she would embarrass you/her daughter at your wedding?

ITA. Then if she wants to bring her mother she'll have to initiate the conversation...
I think the bigger issue is that she needs a new boyfriend!!!! Who wants to date someone who is a shut in! That can't be very much fun for her!!

Why is your friend with a guy that won't even go to a wedding with her?
