Re: am i wrong to be mad?
I don't blame you. I would be upset also. When you cool down, you might want to talk to your friend about this. In my opinion, she should tell her parents sorry, but she has plans out-of-town, but that's me.
I'm so sorry!

Re: am i wrong to be mad?
Is she in the wedding party? Is there any way she can change the date without incurring horrible penalties? In my life, I have found that unfortunately some people are very selfish. I have a friend who is like that and did not come to my shower. The money was not the issue, she sent a lovely gift and that is not the point, I would have rather had her attend than the present. Some people are like that and when you plan a wedding you find out who your real friends are. I am sorry your friend is doing this to you. Lisa

I don't blame you at all for being angry. I would be too.

when her dad booked, he never even asked her if she was available, she would have no loss... she is very much into traveling and i guess a weekend getaway is more important than years of friendship... i guess i learned the hard way

That stinks. I would be mad too.
She should tell her father and have him change the dates of the trip, I know I would.
