I think it's gross...but if your feet hurt that much and you need to take your shoes off, go right ahead!!! I'd rather the guests dancing the night (or day in my case) away, then sitting down because they couldn't take their shoes off.
I just think that if it makes people happier to have their shoes off, then they should come off.

I agree...not really pleasant to look at, but I would rather my guests be up and dancing and having fun than sitting out b/c their feet hurt so bad. I always use a wedding as an excuse tobuy new shoes and usually I wait until the last minute to get them and if I don't, I wont wear them until the day of. I dont know how many times I have had to sit out cause of uncomfortable shoes. But i STILL didnt take them off...lol. It;'s not for me, but if you want to do it, hey..go right ahead, just have fun! I might do the slipper thing for the girls...a robe and g.c's for pedicures.manuicures....

That is why i bought my self and my BP flipflops for the reception, but I really didn't care about anyone else taking off their shoes.

Re: am I wrong with this....Barefoot at a wedding reception

i took off my shoes but no one could see with my dress but my mother in law took off hers which i didn't care but i wish she would have put them on when she did the dance with her son b/c now all the pics that show her and Matt dancing full length look tacky and i can't put it in the album.

I had my shoes on during the parent dances and garter thing.

Im a barefoot girl myself. I dont think it shows my lack of class, I'm just a nature girl! I dont care if people want take off their shoes. Expecially if it alowes them to dance the night away and have a good time.

I usually where comfortable shoes because I have learned my lesson. I know my girls are the type to keep their shoes on as someone said earlier, they are a slave to fashion and want to get their moneys worth.

Re: am I wrong with this....Barefoot at a wedding reception

Well JMO but most shoes that are comfortable, dont really look all that nice. I dance without shoes cause it feels better and i can danc longer too. I dont go barefoot i usally have socks.

Think of it this was would you rather have more people up on the dance floor, or sitting at their tables cause their feet hurt. I would never look at someone and think they were low class for doing this, i would think they were trying to have a great time.

Re: am I wrong with this....Barefoot at a wedding reception

I don't really care - let people have fun! My family's Jamaican anyway - in Jamaica people hardly wear shoes! Maybe I'll supply flipflops in case there's something on the floor, but I much rather have people up dancing.
