I didn't want to fly AA to begin with, but the travel agent told us they would have the best price and we could fly non-stop, so we booked... i got a call today that they cancelled almost all non-stop flights to the carribbean.
Anyway, in order to keep the same low rate, we had to pick a one stop flight each way and I hate lay-overs... So we got a refund and booked with Air Jamiaca. It was $350 more, but the fact that we are non-stop makes it worth it.
I guess this was a little vent, sooooo, vent over, lol

But I am sorry that happened Danielle...that stinks!!! But good thing Tom notified you and was able to get you a new flight. And I agree not having a layover might be worth the extra $350.
I know for the honeymoon we had to have a layover to where we are going and the time we are going. But its a Mexican Airlines so hopefully they are decent haha

we're flying them to Miami and our flight has been changed like 3 times since we booked last October- I hate American! Sorry that that happened to you!

Same thing happened to me but at least you were able to get a direct flight with someone else. There are no direct flights to st. lucia.

They stopped flying after Labor Day. I did searches and found out thats the date they stopped the non stop flights. It suxx you had to change and pay more but look at all the problems AA is having recently, the luggage glitch, the flight yest from LGA to JFK, cancelling flights, etc....

Everytime I fly them I have problems.
Trust me Air Jamaica is worth the extra money! I have never had an issue with them -- plus if the flight isn't full they like to upgrade Honeymooners!

I'd rather be flying air jamaica. I asked to fly that 9 months ago when we booked our flights, but AA came in a lot cheaper, so we went with them...
I guess in this case, I got what I paid for...
I am glad it is resolved. Annoying and an extra cost you didn't need but in the long run you will be much happier.

Yelley, if this provides any consolation...you DEFINITELY upgraded w/ Air Jamaica...IMO
My parents go back and forth to Jamaica like people take day trips to the Hamptons. They go at least 4-5 times a year.....and they NEVER use AA..they hate AA. When I go I also take Air JA if I can help it. Their economy class is on par with alot of airlines first class. Every flight serves complimentary champagne, the flight attendants and ticket agents are hospitable, etc
I'm sorry you had to pay extra k...but you are absolutely getting a better experience

Good move switching. the EXACT same thing happened to us, we had a layover in Miami on the way home, and our flight got mega delayed, even while we watched air jamaica and delta flights taking off, we finally got there and then spent 24 hours in the miami airport due to a plane being broken and had HORRIBLE customer service. Meanwhile other airlines were taking off no problem. Good move.
