American Airlines

CANCELLED OUR HONEYMOON FLIGHTS!!!

I didn't want to fly AA to begin with, but the travel agent told us they would have the best price and we could fly non-stop, so we booked... i got a call today that they cancelled almost all non-stop flights to the carribbean.

Anyway, in order to keep the same low rate, we had to pick a one stop flight each way and I hate lay-overs... So we got a refund and booked with Air Jamiaca. It was $350 more, but the fact that we are non-stop makes it worth it.

I guess this was a little vent, sooooo, vent over, lol

Vent away. I've had sooooo many issues with American the past few years, I refuse to fly them anymore.

THIS HAPPEN TO ME!!!!! i was mad!!!! they changed all 4 of my flights!

there was no way to get to the dominican on the 22nd! so we are spending a ngiht in south beach. than they didnt want to change it they told us we are trying to make a vacation out of it! umm yea we are try to salavage our honey moon that u are trying to ruin

I actually just got a call from my travel agent a few days ago saying that we would have to move our date a day ahead so we did. It was the same thing, it wasn't a non-stop flight there would be connecting flights and we are also flying american airlines, now she moved us a day and we are doing non-stop! Oh no I hope we don't get a call! We paid in full though does that matter at this point??

We cancelled our flights with them and went to Jet Blue. American was playing too many games with our flights.... I will never fly them again and I made sure I told our secretary at work to never book me an AA flight

I don't understand... with the ecomonmy so bad and most people cutting down on traveling, you'd think they'd take care of people that dish ou tthe money to fly...

Tom (the travel guy) told me that b/c of the inconvenience they are refunding without penalties, but the truth is, i'm now booking another flight a month before we leave and I'm going to end up paying an arm and a leg for it!!!!

I'm not mad. The situation is fixed, but i just don't understand how an airline can just cancel a flight and not even notify you. Had i not booked with a TA, i would've went to AA a few days before to confirm my reservation and realized we had none...

argh thats soo annoying...i heard they lost a TON of luggage recently too so its better off just ***** that its more money!

Everytime I fly them I have problems.

Trust me Air Jamaica is worth the extra money! I have never had an issue with them -- plus if the flight isn't full they like to upgrade Honeymooners!

OMG, are you kidding me? My connecting flights have already been changed. I haven't heard from my travel agent...yet!

ETA: I missed where you said 'non-stop'. This only applies to non-stop flights then?

I'd rather be flying air jamaica. I asked to fly that 9 months ago when we booked our flights, but AA came in a lot cheaper, so we went with them...

I guess in this case, I got what I paid for...

I hate American Airlines and Delta...I try to only fly Jet Blue now...but Southwest was good when we went to Vegas!

But I am sorry that happened Danielle...that stinks!!! But good thing Tom notified you and was able to get you a new flight. And I agree not having a layover might be worth the extra $350.

I know for the honeymoon we had to have a layover to where we are going and the time we are going. But its a Mexican Airlines so hopefully they are decent haha
