American Express Gift Cheques

I have to buy one for a wedding this weekend and I was wondering - do you have to pay cash for these or can you charge them? I only bought them once and i had the cash on me--just wondering.

You can pay for them with a credit card.

When I worked for the company thats how we always did it

bring cash with you... I just went to buy them and they said if you charged it there would be fees accumulating or something..
Also for each check there is a surcharge $2.50.

thanks everyone for the quick replies! I though there might be a hidden fee....well thank you! I appreciate it! Where is the best place to buy them--last time i did it @ my bank-but i don't think they take credit cards there-- i want to get this done after work today because everything is closed tomorrow & the wedding is saturday!

The website I just found said Amex only as far as credit cards go.

Do you have an american express travel agency near you?? you can go to them and buy it.

Go online to AmericanExpress.com and see if they have a locater and you can put in your zip and locate a place to buy them. I am not too familiar with the website so I dont know if it does or not

thanks ladies--i just called and got some not so nice guy but anyway-he said most banks won't accept credit cards for them--and i can buy it through them via phone or their website, but it won't be here in time.....i'll just have t o pay cash-i wanted Points on my visa!!!!!

If you belong to AAA you can get them fee free and I swear I paid by credit card when I get them there - call them and ask -I find them easier - If you have select banking with a bank ( I have chase) they will do them fee free and you can do it with a credit card there or they will take it right out of your account
