Do you really see any of these people as an american idol...
I have YET to see anyone of the past winners as an AMERICAN IDOL...
It definately appeals to the teenie poppers and middle-menopause aged woman but ...
AN AMERICAN IDOL...NO..none of them.. Good singers yea...making money sure...but not an idol by any means

Re: American Idol Question
I honestly thought Kelly Clarkson was the best 'idol' out of any of the winners, but no, most of these people aren't idols by any means.

That's true. I picture an idol as somebody that tries to appeal to all age groups though. Most people I know that like Clay though are older women. He doesn't really appeal to men or younger women. He's a great singer though.

OMG truly I could not agree more! I simply dont get what people see in Clay whatsoever.. he's just so 'BLAH' .. even his singing .. BLAH..
As for thinking these pepoel are 'idols' .. well HELL NO, I don't think ANY of them are 'idol worthy' or worth half of the accolades they wind up receiving. I bet you that the majority of them aren't half as good as most of the people that you'd see off-broadway or playing in a nightclub
.. this show always manages to disappoint me in the end .. I'm not even sure why I still watch

Maybe he does sound like a broadway singer... why is that a bad thing? If you watched the show all of his performances were flawless. Kristen, it doesn't matter that he didn't 'win' he is very sucessful without the title of American Idol. What ever happened to Ruben

Re: American Idol Question
Yeah Ruben isn't doing half as well as Clay..
But I think the biggest 'loser' was Justin from season 1 ... his career totally took a nosedive after that stupid movie he made with Kelly Clarkson . I could not STAND Justin

I know, it just ticks me off that he didn't win, because he really did deserve it. His fans stuck with him though, despite that and his record sales were amazing. Ruben had ONE song come out and then he fell off the face of the earth

Re: American Idol Question
There are a few that have possibilities but there is not as much idol potential as season 2.

I didn't say that was bad...but he isn't an AMERICAN IDOL... You will not see anyone trying to look like him, dress like him, sing like him... That is what i meant
Successful YES he was...
But i guess i just feel the whole meaning of the show is silly...NONE of these people are or will ever be AMERICAN IDOLS
