American Idol Question

Original post by RedHead

Do you really see any of these people as an american idol...

I have YET to see anyone of the past winners as an AMERICAN IDOL...

It definately appeals to the teenie poppers and middle-menopause aged woman but ...

AN AMERICAN IDOL...NO..none of them..
Good singers yea...making money sure...but not an idol by any means

Yeah, I think that is just the name of the show... I don't think any of them are idols either. Maybe Clay is an idol to nerds

Re: American Idol Question

The other night I was flipping channels and there was an episode of that show Elimidate-

Constantine was on it wearing a leather shirt and leather pants. He was up against 2 other guys-

All 3 guys were acting like fools- but I guess they always do on that show.

Did anyone else see it?

It was probbly filmed some time last yearb/c his hair was a bit shorter then it is now.

Re: American Idol Question

I do not think ANY of the constants or winners of american idol are ANYWHERE near ever being one...

Some may become successful in they own way...but IDOLS...that IMO is reserved for the Michael Jacksons, Madonnas, even britney spears.....NOT clay aiken or Kelly Clarkson...

I get what you are saying about the whole idol thing.. some may be good but not on the Madonna or Michael Jackson scale. I still like Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken.

Yeah, but it is only the start of their careers. Who knows what will happen?

Since you mention Britney Spears.. she was on Star Search. It wasn't until years later she became a big star. Right now Clay, Kelly may not be idols, but being on American Idol has opened doors for them and given them chances that they may not ever otherwise had. And I think they both have potential/ But I disagree with Britney Spears being an Idol anyways.

TRUE! But deep down do you really think they will ever be idols?
Britney spears was 13 or so when she was on that show NOT 23!

Re: American Idol Question

Maybe maybe not...so far Kelly is the only one who has a real shot.

I just think you are taking the tilte of the show too literally. Is the winner from 'America's next top model' really the next top model??? NO! None of these reality shows really do what they are suppossed to do. Look at all the loves shows (like the bachelor, joe millionaire, for love or money) The couples are usually broken up even before the show airs.
If anything these shows are opening doors for people and getting their faces out there.
IMO Clay IS an idol. Maybe not as good of a singer as Michael Jackson, but in his spare time he is a teacher for special needs children and is involved with charities... not with molesting children. He is a good person overall, who can sing also. Maybe more people should look up to Clay.
I am a big Clay Aiken fan
