It's actually a pretty house from what I remember. They changed the 'scary' windows though. It looks different.
I bet the homeowners a real happy about the remake coming out!

I remember reading alot about this house online. There are some great sites whether it was fact or fiction.

The present owners have actually sued the Lutz family as well as the makers of the original movie which was settled out of court. Nothing has ever happend in the house since they have been in.

Supposedly, the Lutz's made the story up because they could not afford the house and made it up to sell their story and pay off their debts.

Security is beefed up around the neighborhood.

I just read the thing that Lolita posted on the other thread. Its really intresting. Although towards the end that wrote about all the people who died that were invloved in the house some how. And one of the boys who moved in after the lutz family died a 'tragic death' And he slept in the same bedroom as Robert Defeo.

Re: amityville house

I just read this on MTV about them making the movie. This is a little freaky!

After the first night of shooting the 2005 version, inspired by the same 1977 book that spawned 1979's first 'Amityville' movie, actress Melissa George ('Alias') woke up in the middle of the night and glanced at her clock. It was 3:15.

'That was scary for me, but I laughed,' George said on the Buffalo Grove, Illinois, set of the movie in October. 'I thought it was quite funny.'

George laughed less a few weeks later when security guards on the set called the director one night to report that all of the lights in the 'Amityville' house had been turned on and nobody was found inside. And it was certainly not funny when the real George Lutz's wife passed away suddenly during filming.

Slightly freaked, the cast went on and finished the movie, but those experiences never left their minds.

I wouldnt drive over there if I were you. There are police cars sitting on the block, waiting to pull people over that do not live around the area. I saw this on the news the other day.....

Julz...Would you want people driving by your house at all times of the day and night and also pulling into your drive way to get a better look at a house that doesnt look anything like it used to?? I think it is kind of ridiculous to drive over there just to see the house and I am sure you wouldnt appreciate it if you were one of the neighbors.

If people are dumb enough to think they can get a house on that block and NOT have people driving by they need to have their heads examined!!!!!

Re: amityville house

Isn't it a public street? Therefore if all people are doing is driving down the street, then legally what are they doing wrong? However, if people are stopping in the street (blocking traffic) or going on people's property then that can be a problem!

Re: amityville house

That is what they are doing. They are stopping in peoples driveways to get a better look, or stopping front of the house to take pictures and video....And im sorry If I lived on that block i would be annoyed too....I would want the police there making stops....

What was sos cary about the windows?

I know nothing of the story actually
And I agree with Scott, I'd be PISSED. Even if you moved their recently, you'd have no way of knowing they's make another moie and start the craze all over again

sorry but again I have to say that if you buy a hosue near that amity house (and dont even say they didnt know) then I say you have no right to complain about it....they should have bought a house on the 100000 other blocks on long island

Re: amityville house

What about the people that lived there for years before the whole amityville horror came about? Some of the people that live near that house are not people that just moved into the area. I am sorry but I wouldnt want that happening on my block and I know you wouldnt want that happening on your block, so dont even try to say you would understand or that you wouldnt mind it at all
