Amount of Guests Invited

The catering halls say at least 20% of all the people you invite will respond no. Has anyone found this to be true? How many are coming compared to how many you invited?

Yes it is. I invited 232 and my final was 190

we invited about 430 and had about 390 show up.

I think that's pretty safe to assume:

We invited 216, we're going to have about 150--but we invited a lot of people from the UK who aren't going to make it.

i think it depends a lot on who you invited.
are there many people from out of town?
did you invite just close friends and family or did you include a lot of others?
did you invite many coworkers?
some people you invite with a guest may chose to come alone which can lower your number.
before sending out my invites, i had already narrowed down my guest list due to size of my reception hall. we are only inviting family and close friends to keep the number down and we have very few people from out of town. so, we are expecting a lot less than 20% to decline.

I agree that it depends on who you invite. I invited my family who lives in brooklyn and I am positive that they ALL are going to show up. OOTs and not so close relatives are defintely on a 'maybe' list. They usually make up that 20%

We invited 225 and 165 are coming.

I'm shooting to have ~100.

Currently our list is 178 but half are OOT. We will send out 150 to all, expecting that anywhere from 80-125 will show...

I invited 240...but many of those were from out of country...and obligatory work invites...so probably 40 we knew would not come before we sent the invites out

That was about right for me too. We invited about 260 and had about 200.

Our wedding was on new years eve and we knew alot of people wouldnt come because they had plans already. But we invited 167 and had 104 come to the wedding

Ahhh I hope that dosent count for me since hardly anyone we invited is OOT. I have to garuntee 150... I might have to make a few LIW tables!! Anyone wanna come???
