YES! And, it can be worse, depending upon how difficult your delivery was, how many stitches you were given (if any)..etc. Think of it this way...when you are pregnant, your blood volume increases by a certain percentage, to support the baby. After you give birth, everything has to somehow return to 'normal' and this is one way for your body to get rid of the extra blood volume.

It's definitely TMI, but I'll share...

You have to wear some pretty hefty pads for a while (for a few days I wore 2 at a time!) and I don't think a thong can securely hold them in place. Also, I didn't want to run the risk of staining any of my semi-expensive undies. (I have have an underwear fetish and often spend $30 or more on a pair.)

This is the one thing no one ever told me about childbirth. The bleeding afterwards. I bled for almost 6 weeks after Damien. I think your body tries to make up for no period for 9 months

Stacey, I would've told ya!! My friends all warned me about the bleeding and boy, they weren't kidding!!! Like you, I bled for almost 5 weeks and then I didn't realize that I had gotten my period! (TMI, sorry)

Anyway, note to all your preggo's -- TAKE HOME ALL THE PADS YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON FROM THE HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!! You are going to need them and will go through them like there's no tomorrow -- JennRenee's right, I was wearing 2 at a time for about a week or more!!!
