an unique reception location

an unique reception location

Hi Ladies!

I'm searching for an unique wedding location.
Something with a garden maybe, a private estate or a historic site.
I'm planning to have a vintage themed wedding with a twist.
I love the metropolitan building in LIC but $150 per head or $6000 location rental is to much for my budget
I wish I could find something cheaper on Long Island that would be great

any suggestions?

Look into Coindre Hall ... it's a gorgeous old mansion in Huntington. Also try de Seversky (though I wasn't pleased with their management when I looked there) but the feel is what you are describing ... check the Bourne Mansion as well.

De seversky has 2500 site fee and I've been told is 150 a head (saturday)...

I'm going to see it tommorow and will have more info!

Did you check out The Foundry in LIC also? I love that place but it was too small for our needs and out of the budget.

These are all great but I'm thinking about something with a rustic feel

It's $8000 location fee + equipment rental + food = $$$$$

WOW! The Foundry prices went up! That's my dream venue.

Yeah, you'll probably have to resize the pictures and they have to be either .jpg or .gif.

My FSIL is getting married at The Riviera in May 2011, her name is Future JOC. If you have any questions, she'll def. be able to help you.

What about:
-Old Westbury Gardens at Orchard Hill
- The Vanderbuilt Mansion at Dowling College
- The Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown
- The Tappan Hill Mansion
I'd also suggest my RH Westbury Manor. It is an old mansion and has a very Victorian feel and stunning gardens. Edited to add: Check out the photos in my album.

I've had a great experience with them so far. The food is excellent and we got a great price. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I think you would love Old Field Club. Its in Setauket, it was established in 1929...its absolutely beautiful and definitely unique, at least in my eyes and compared to many places on Long Island.

ETA: I think it also goes GREAT with your inspiration!!!

I see that you have a garden-y inspiration going on. My RH is the Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling. I think you might like the courtyard there especially in the spring when all the flowers are blooming. Take a look at my album. I took pics when I went there. Sight fee is 1500 - 2500 depending on the day. The fee pp is similar to other venues.

awww, Riviera would be perfect for a vintage theme! My friends loved the rustic feel of it :).
