What to do? We are using pocketfolds - with no inner envelope.
There are a handful of people we are inviting with a guest, but know they are not dating anyone and not sure who they'd bring at this point (and I'm sure they wouldn't know either).
How do we handle the 'and guest' part? Is it rude to put it on the outer envelope?
Or is it enough to address it to the known guest and on the RSVP card put the number of seats reserved? (We have a line on our RSVP that says __ Seats have been reserved in your honor)

just put and guest on the outter - it will be fine. I did that for only two people since they had no steady date at the time.

Thanks Jen - I appreciate the advice! I guess it doesn't really matter in the end - it gets thrown away and plus I can't recall how invites I've received in the past year were addressed.
Hopefully we can finish printing them and be done with it!!!

We also only have outer envelopes b/c we are using pockets and we are putting 'and guest' on the outer envelope. That's what we were told to do when we ordered the invites from the owner of the store... HTH!

I have the same dilemma. I was trying to avoid putting and guest on the outer, but I really didn't have a choice. I'm sure it's fine. I figure, they are getting an invite so they should be happy with that.

This definitely helps!! The less I stress over small stuff the better I'll feel - I mean - it is just an envelope! Thanks for the advice ladies!!! Almost done printing now too!! YAY!
