And how was YOUR day?

I don`t usually post, but I sure do have something to say today. I came in to work in Chelsea this morning, and my mother called from VANCOUVER to tell me to look out my window. Sure enough, there`s Tower 1 with a great big %&*$# hole i it, Tower 2 is a smoky blur. I left the office at 10 and I ended up walking to Queens. I just got home a little while ago. I know this sounds a little dramatic, but all I could think about was my fiancee and how worried he must be (he missed his train to Bellmore and never left the apartment after he found out what was going on.) You have to understand, no one`s cell phone worked, the trains weren`t moving, the subways were down. No one knows what`s going on and everyone is trying to get out! All I could think about was trying to get in touch with him to tell him I was alright. Do me a favor, go home and tell him how much you love him and how precious he is, and apologize for driving him crazy with wedding talk (I am a culprit of this.) I am sorry for dumping this on you guys. I just needed to get it out because I realized how much I love him and take him for granted every day.

One positive...

this is a terrible way of remembering to tell those we love how much they mean to us. Taking each day (not just the big ones like our wedding day) as precious is always a valuable lesson. Easier said than done.

I can understand what you mean. While people were trying to get out of the city, I was being told my fiance and I needed to get to work. We do not work in an emergency service organization. And I did not want to leave his side. This was at the time when one disaster followed the previous, and we had no idea when the end of the barrage might be coming. Luckily we both made it to where we had to go, only to be sent back home less than three hours later. These tragedies have their way of putting everything into perspective.
