And now for happy times

this is what my grandma said to fh and I as she held our hands after my grandfather's funeral yesterday. He was so excited for us, and he will be with us and will be there to see me married, even if I can't see him.

I wanted to thank all of you for your tremendous show of support for me and for my family. It really means a lot.

More than 300 people showed up to mourn the passing of my grandfather and support my grandmother. He was as well loved by others as he loved them, and together with my grandma, he created a strong and loving family. He will be deeply missed, but I know he will not miss a thing.

Thanks again ladies. Now it's time to plan a wedding!

aww jess hun, that was so sweet. Your right though, I am a strong believer that our loved ones can watch over us long after they are 'gone'

I'm positive that what your grandmother told you about your grandfather put you at some ease.

He will be watching down on you, and knows you are doing the right thing and supports you in every decision you make.

Honey I know that its never easy but your so right -- He will forever be with you both!
And I am happy to hear that there was such a turn out - its good to know that there was so many lives that he touched and they all remembed that - that will keep his love and sprit alive always

HI Jess... Glad to see you back on the boards. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss, but your grandmother is right, your grandfather will be watching over you every day, for the rest of your life. Just know that we are all here for you whenver you need us.

I do agree with your grandmother. Your Grandfather will be at your wedding watching you and your FH enjoying your beautiful day.

Having recently had a loss myself, I can say that your grandmother has the right spirit. The same as my mothers. When we were at Dad's funeral, the Rabbi said that funerals aren't for those who have passed, but to help those who are still here. 300 people came to support your family. That says a lot for him and for all of you. You can celebrate your grandfather's life and spirit by making the best wedding you can. With each plan we make, I cry a little, then smile knowing how much joy this wedding would have brought to my father. If you can do the same, then you are celebrating your grandfather's great influence on you that so many people came to honor.
