and the guest option frenzy continues..AND I GOT THE REPLY...
So I got responses over the weekend with people adding more people. I had to call 3 people over the weekend. One of them was understanding and actually said she put 2 without thinking and didnt even give me the other persons name...but the other 2 friends were like 'well, who I am I supposed to dance with?'.
UM, the rest of our solo friends who already responded properly??
I heard through the grapevine another friend of mine was upset over the whole 'no guests if you're single' rule. I wrote him a message this morning, I hope it gets through to him. He didn't send his response back yet, but I figured I'd try to beat him to the punch. Also, his ex is coming, and I want him to know she's not bringing a date and for him to bring a date would be cruel and I don't want the drama.
+++++
I figured I'd write you a message because there is something that is bothering me, and I wanted to clear it up with you.
A few people told me you were upset that I didn't give you a guest option. Truth is, I didn't give about 38 people a guest option that I knew wasn't in a relationship for a while already. The reason being is that Derek and I are simply tapped out of funds, and cannot pay for spots that may or may not be filled. My parents are not helping us, and neither are his, so we are literally scraping pennies. We're both working over time to cover the rest of the bill.
I wanted to be able to invite all my friends and family. My wedding is actually a big deal family-wise. I'm the first on my side, and Derek is the last on his. (yea, no pressure, right?).
As you can see, the guest option was not a personal reason - for anyone - it was all monetary. I want everyone to have a nice time, and I went out of my way to make this really special. I already had to talk to a few people about it and they are not happy with it either, and it upsets me that no one can understand it is simply a money issue and space.
I know you haven't spoken to Jenny in a while, but I wanted to make you aware she is coming, and she's coming solo, along with Erin, Joe, Angela, and a few others that I simply said no guests too.
I really hope you can understand this. I am in no way trying to be mean. I am under an overwhelming amount of stress because I am doing all of this with no help from anyone, so my frustrations are coming out from all of that. Plus, his family is being a giant pain about everything and telling me every week to add someone they forgot to tell me - I had to tell them over the weekend I am out of invites and we are tapped out. (I REALLY should be telling them that if they want them there, to pay for there spots now, but I can't say that to my future in laws, and it bothers me til no end).
There will be plenty of people there you will know and without dates, and plan to sit everyone accordingly and what I know would make people comfortable and relaxed.
I really hope you can be there for our special day.
:)
ETA: THE JERK'S RESPONSE. OH HE HAS BEEN CUT OFF.
does anyone really think what I did was 'tacky'? the kid changes his cell number every month and never informs me, so i COULDN'T call.
Whatever, hope it gave you a laugh.

Hey,
I originally did want to bring a guest but decided against it, respecting your wishes from your messages on facebook and for other people attending. I'm not sure who told you I was upset. I really haven't talked to anyone or posted anything anywhere about this, but I'm perfectly fine with going solo.
My true concern lies with everyone else whos going. I'm not sure what their demeaner is going to be when I'm there since I haven't talked to anyone since breaking up with Jen. No one has contacted me since for anything and that leaves me to believe that they're pissed off with me. From what I've been told people are saying, 'Bryan is the new Eric in the group'. I definitely feel I'm going to get chewed out and it makes me wonder if I should go at all.
What does make me upset is that this stupidity is the only thing you would contact me about in 3 months, you will just jump into your argument without asking whats going on or any other formalities, you're willing to listen to the heresey about me from other people and you don't feel this is important enough for a direct phone call. You'd rather use a tacky message through facebook for something like this. Well, with the same due respect, I am messaging you back. Right now I feel I'm going to be a seat filler, not really wanted there but invited for God knows what reason. So I'm going to double this message as an RSVP reply and tell you that I will not be going. I understand that you are put under a lot of stress over this wedding, but that's no excuse for disrespecting other people.
Ultimately, I know that this is going to be one of the most special days of yours and Derek's lives, and I wish both of you all the luck in the world in the future. But I don't feel right about going to your wedding.
