I hate to bash my own religion, but I knew this was going to happen!
We haven't taken precana yet thru our church, and we cannot schedule a rehearsal unless we do.
well, how on earth am I supposed to tell my out-of-towners when to come in for the RD, and how am I supposed to book a restaurant?
and this is why I asked and begged FH to reconsider the church.
please FM me on how I can push for an RD to be scheduled and get this precana/focus thing going before I lose my mind.

I feel your pain. nothing but problems with my church as well. We got kicked out of pre-cana and had to take a one-day pre-cana (ALLLLL day on a Saturday) at Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa.

I'm confused, why don't you just sign up for pre-cana and then schedule the RD? You're gonna have to do it eventually...

I signed up through the Diocese of Rockville Centre for a weekend session - bingo, bango pre-cana was another check off the list. Be sure to check that out!

we've been signed up since november of last year.....we have not gotten a notice yet, and i keep calling and they said 'next round in september'.

supposedly the guy in charge has been sick, and is in and out, and my FH has warned me to be nice, no matter how mad I get (yea, thats like asking a dog not to bark).
but seriously, why isn't someone else handling his paperwork?
I'm going to collect my thoughts tonight with FH and call in the morning. FH is right, you cannot get mad with the church.

Skip the church and call the diocese to see if there is a pre-cana at another church near by.
I did mine in another state. There's got to be one going on somewhere that you can get in on.

I am not sure if your church makes you go somewhere in particular to do Pre-cana. But our church did not give us an option. But the guy we had to use does group classes 1 evening a week for 8 weeks or you can opt for 1 day on your own. We did the Focus exercise at home a few weeks before we had the Pre-cana. The day class we did only lasted 2 hours. He told us 3-4 hrs but we are all done in 2. He is a very nice man and he holds the class in the city near Grand Central. FM me if you want his details.

I know that they won't schedule the Rehearsal until two months prior either way....they were pretty strict. However in the end it all comes together, don't stress too much.
But I would just call the diocese and sign up through them and be done with the pre cana instead of waiting for st.joes

Why not sign up to take it at a different church. I just called around and found a church near us that was offering it and that was fine.
