anniversary dance

Hey ladies I have been reading on some boards about this anniversary dance that is done at some weddings replacing the bouquet toss and garter toss. Sounds like something I might be interested in can someone please explain it. Thanks.

Re: anniversary dance

I think this is it - this is what my brother did at his wedding. All the married couples are asked to come to dance on the dance floor. As the song progresses, the DJ ask the couples that are married less than 5 years to leave the floor, little more dancing, then the couple that is married less than 10 years leaves the floor, then 20 years, 30 years and so on. The last couple dancing is the couple in the room that has been married the longest at my brothers wedding it was my SIL's aunt and uncle who were married over 40 years.

Sorry this one was long.

this was done at my cousins wedding 2 years ago. the DJ asked for married couples only to get on the dance floor. once he started playing a slow dance song the DJ would start off like this: anybody married under 24 hours please leave the dance floor; then wait a few seconds, then anybody married 5 years or less please leave the dance floor; anyboday 10 years or less and so on. the couple married the longest is the winner and gets your BK. My great aunt and uncle won. at the time they were married almost 60 years. they are still alive and still married.

Sounds like a great idea, I really like it. But I can't see foregoing the BK and garter toss. Besides I know my grandparents have been married the longest, when we get married it will have been almost 59 years for them. And still going strong!
