Announcements

Is everyone sending out engagement announcements or are you doing Save the Dates or are you combining both of them?

kind of a combo-- i'm sending out a save the date that says something like danielle and vinny are excited to announce their wedding date...

so a little of both!

the more i read the responses, the more i think i misunderstood-- we are doing our STD cards and mailing them out and when the wedding comes closer we are going to put an announcement in the newspaper.

My FH put an announcement in the local paper when we first got engaged as a surprise

We did STD's as a favor at our enagement party and then we will be sending out STD's to our other guests probably a year before the wedding. No formal announcement though.

We are not doing save the dates, as we don't have any OOT guests, etc.

We might do an announcement in the paper...

We made save the date magnets and gave them out as favors for our engagement party. I wanted to let people know about the wedding being that is Memorial Day weekend.
