announcing bridal party at reception

edited: you all are totally right. either no titles at all or no announcements. i put hidden titles while trying not to title!!!! i wonder how fh and the parents will feel about that though. hmm

Since the titles of the bridal party have caused some conflict.
i was thinking of not having them announced when the people are announced..would that be okay if instead of 'Here is the honor attendance, sam and the matron of honor Lala sally and june the bridesmaids ect

but with something like this:

'Brother, Sam escorting his girlfriend Dawn (a bm), and the brides forever friend(bm), then the grooms best friends, Danny and George escorting the brides best friend Leanne'

then we have two jr bm and a gm and two ringbearers - all cousins so then can we announce them all together as 'the grooms cousins, Eva, Darren, charlie and Antonio!!

?

and of course the parents.

will be notice that titles are not used- probably not right?

ok - so titles have caused some conflict and bickery huh? Yikes - how petty!

I think you are on the right track and have a great idea. Im sure when it comes to that time - the title is going to be so important - and not only will it neutralize the conflict - but ppl like that IMO dont deserve it.

Im sure someone will notice, but by that time - im sure everyone is probably thinking 'hurry up so we can see the bride and groom'

Saying the titles at the reception might just cause more undo stress on you - and im sure u have enough of that already!

SMART IDEA!

Great thinking.

It seems as though you still have titles in there though - groom's best friend, bride's forever friend, etc. If you're going to end up calling someone a best friend when having them announced, I'd say at that point just stick with the title of bridesmaid or groomsman instead, Because I think the other way you have it are titles too.

If you really want to do away with titles, why not just have the MC announce people like this: 'Give it up for John Doe escorting Jane Doe'.

i agree. Bc if you say MOH and BM then thats fine bc its what they are. But then if you start saying best friend, forever friend, closest friend then that defines the relationship with your bp even more. Like wait why is she your best friend, and why is she the closest or whatever. If you dont want titles i agree with just saying their names only

I def. agree. I don't like when ppl use titles like 'best' friend, bc then it makes everyone else think 'what am I, the sucky friend?'

Keep it simple with no titles - 'john and jane'

That's a great idea. I went to a wedding where there were two MOH and when the first one was announced as the 'first' maid of honor, the other one got really upset.
Yes.......ridiculous!

i think if you say their names ONLY nobody will even realize that youre not saying 'bridesmaid kathy smith'
