I needed a little bottle for a recipe and I asked for bourbon, she gave me brandy and I said, 'are they the same? I said bourbon' and she was all YEAH!

Well, they are NOT the same Now I have to go back and exchange

THe more I think about it, she barely looked old enough to be selling alcohol, so benefit of the doubt that she had NO CLUE.

But again, it's smelling funny with the bourbon ... I may have been better off with the brandy!!!

well, then she should have said she just didn't know. In NY do you only have to be 18 to sell liquor?

Wendy--as for the smell, is it coking now or jsut marinateing? It will smell different after alcohol burns off.

I forgot I had a tiny bit of tequila & margarita mix in the pantry, I should have just tried that!

The glaze is cooking, so the alcohol should be burned off already. Not sure what of the smell I'm not digging ... maybe the cloves? It also does not seem to be thickening as much as I had expected

Well, after nearly passing out from the stench of the 'Spicy Root Beer and Bourbon Glaze', I dumped it down the sink and just used the homemade BBQ sauce!!!

All those trips to the liquor store for nothing!
