annoyed vent.....

An old friend seems mad at me cause i didnt invite her to my wedding.... a little baclkground......

I have known this girl since kindergarten...i moved from queens to LI when i was 15 1/2 we really didnt hang out much since we were 12 or 13 we got back in touch thru myspace about 5 years ago and i have only seen her 1 time since then. So i had an away message up on AIM saying 175 invited blah blah blah...and she sent me a mesage with a sad face saying 'im not invited?' i told her alot of people couldnt be invited but we have a B-list if enough family members say no....her response was 'whatever...enjoy your time' *** IS THAT?? i told her we had to invite family first and weddings are very VERY expensive especailly paying for it ourselves when she gets married she will maybe understand better....

I AM SO ANNOYED AT THIS!!! I didnt ralized people were really expecting to be invited that arent family or close friends...i asked her if she was mad and she didnt respond....shes got some nerve!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised she expected to be invited. I know you used to be close, but if you've only seen her once within the last 5 years, I don't think it's necessary to invite her. Honestly, if I saw someone once in 5 years and was invited to their wedding, I would feel like they were only inviting for a gift or just to meet their minimum. JMO

yeah and im actually surprised with her cause shes not really like that..........we were best friends growing up and as we got older we fell into different groups , when i moved i lost touch with alot of people.........ah well she will get over it
we r wayyyyy over what we wanted to invite now i am praying for 25 NOs!!

I feel like people have no clue what goes into a wedding, both money and time...etc...she definitley has no idea...I understand about hoping for some Nos...we are a bit above our max

she sounds a bit jealous that she wasnt a part of it had she never seen that message do you think she would have even remembered you were getting married being that you arent really close?

I agree you shouldnt feel bad about not inviting her, and she shouldnt EXPECT it, but I personally wouldn't tell someone they were on a 'B' list. That may be what offended her the most.

well she was already annoyed lol so i didnt care at that point but i wanted her to know she was next in line after family...lol i told alot of people they were on my B list they were all fine with it they understand i am on a VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY TIGHT BUDGET

I would be surprised if somebody ive seen once in 5 years invited me to their wedding and it would be completely unexpected, so not sure why she expected anything. I guess it's hard for people to understand how hard it is to plan a wedding and pay for everything involved with the wedding.

Theres nothing you can do and nothing can change how she reacts. If she wants to be that way, then fine she will be. There are a lot of people im sure who figured they were one of the close ones for an invite, but they dnt pay the bills.

You gave her a very dignified, adult, and appropriate answer. The ball is in her court. If shes grown up and mature shell understand, but theres a reason you drifted off in the first place, and maybe shes heading right back out to sea....
