So my FH and i booked with our photographer about a month and a half ago. In our contract they are supposed to give us an engagment photo shoot and make our save the dates. I am getting married 4th of july weekend next year and i wanted to send out my STDs by the 4th of this year! Well when i spoke to them they told me that it was too early to send them out and kinda made me feel bad but told me that he would call me back and arrange something for june. That was the begining of this month. He has not called me back and i called and left a message last week. no reply. I feel like making my own STDs now.....

Well first of all, they don't get to decide when you send your save the dates -- that's your choice and if you want to send them a year in advance, then you can!
Keep calling until you get ahold of them!!

They have no right to tell you that it is too early!! P.S. I am getting married on that weekend as well. You definitely need to send them out early because it is a popular holiday weekend where people go away. You have the right idea...your photographer needs a kick in the butt.

Ummm who does he think he is?? the groom??? Don't hesitate to speak up, remember you're paying for him to do an awesome work.

I sent my STDs out a year before so I don't see the problem with it. My reasons were people book vacations well in advanced and I wanted to also give the OOTers a heads up that they needed to come to NY.
Tell your photog to take your pics and make your STDs when YOU want them!

It amazes me how you pay vendors to work for you but if ends up feeling like your working for them. Definitely lay the ground rules with this vendor, especially since you will be spending most of your wedding day with them.

I'm getting married on Labor Day weekend and plan on sending out the STD's a year in advance as well!
