Another card box question! (Poll)

Sorry... still trying to decide here...

One of my BMs has the little satin bag she used for her wedding that she offered to me... should I use that instead??

Someone also posted to me the other day that if I do decide to buy the card box, I can use it to store wedding mementos and other stuff after the wedding so that helps me justify the $$$ a little more.

Jimmy likes the idea of the box rather than the bag because it's easier for the guests to 'get rid' of their cards so they don't have to worry about them, carry them around, or hunt us down to give them to us. (I know some people will still insist on handing it us personally)

I'm not crazy about the idea of carrying the bag around.

I have that exact card box. I like the idea of a box better, b/c I feel like it is more secure and easier for guests to just drop their cards in.

I like the box idea, then you don't have to be carrying a bag around with you. If a guest wants to hand the card to you, you can just stick it in the box.

Re: Another card box question! (Poll)

I think the card boxes are very pretty and I do like them a lot, however we are not using one. I don't like the idea of leaving the box out unattended (heard too many horror stories about guests gone greedy) and I'm not sure how I feel having it out - almost afraid that I am telling guests that I expect money...not that's just because NO ONE in our families has done it before. I have to been to several weddings with a card box and never thought anything other than how pretty it looked. Our family is very much about giving the card at the end of the night when you say your goodbyes - the guest gives the card and the bride and groom have the opportunity to say thank you, goodnight and give the favor. Just a different view.

Re: Another card box question! (Poll)

I haven't figured out what I'm doing for that either. I think I'm going to get the box and have them det it up near our table. If people think it's rude they are free to hand me their card whenever they want, but I think for storage they would be safest in the box. Not to mention, my mother will be taking the envelopes home because we're leaving for the HM first thing in the morning and I feel more secure with them in a box than floating in a bag.

That's my family's philosophy too, but FH thinks a bag is taky & our friends will be looking for a place to put the cards, sohe wants a birdcage. I Think he is out numbered on this one though.
I thin we will just collect the cards by hand.

JB- if you are doing one of those 2, I like the box, unless you don't really carry the bag around, just go leave it with someone & bring the cards to them.

It seems like you like the box better yourself. Try party city.

We are using the Lillian Vernon card box. It looks like a wedding cake.
