The piano is a virutal instrument that really can play anything....

Canon in D is nice on piano, although it was originally written for strings. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is gorgeous on the piano too... really, anything you want can be done on the piano. the only thing i would stay away from would be something like Trumpet Voluntary or something that was written for and usually played on another instrument (in that case, the trumpet).

you'll be fine with just a pianist...

Thank you! I like Jesus, Joy of Man's desiring and I will use it. I would like to walk in with Canon in D.

Does it have to be classical? If not there are a TON of contemporary songs that sound incredible on piano.

I had thought classical but then... I am open minded.

FH wants to start with the '24' clock countdown. So, that's not really 'traditional'.
