i posted the other day that FMIL keeps saying we should have eloped. there is something else that bothers me even more that she has said twice...
and tonight i got to hear it for a THIRD TIME after we finished eating dinner...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
why does she have to say things like that?! i didnt even eat an excessive dinner!

oh my goodness...I feel your pain...my FMIL said to me once after I ate 5 potato chips... 'Wow you're really going to town with yourself tonight, huh?' Keep in mind at this point I was about 100 pounds! Makes me SO mad! This is why girls end up with eating disorders!

btw, my FMIL got me a shirt for xmas size large. she asked fsil if it would fit me and fsil told her no, that i'm a small. fmil didnt believe her.

I can't believe she said that---you look amazing in your dress. I give you credit--my FMIL would never say that FSMIL(step) would, but I would have a comment back. People need to learn that what they say hurts and they should keep it to themselves.

i do want to mention that i love fmil...i actually feel bad posting this...she's been so good to me and FH...
but that doesnt mean it doesnt hurt when she says things like that...if anything i think it makes it hurt worse bc i really love her.

Do you think maybe she's treating you like a daughter instead of a daughter in law? Maybe she feels so close to you that she thinks she thinks she can say these things. Not that it makes it right but could be why.
