and most likely a second wedding for us in 2004. My son just phoned and said he got engaged! I can't sleep and can't possibly start making phonecalls, so I find myself here, sharing the news with all of you.
And to think, I just found my gown for my daughter's wedding after a long, grueling search. A son's wedding is different though. I need to wait for the bride's mom to make her choice first.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. The proposal wasn't too exciting, but quite romantic. They went to a show in the city and as he sat in the theater he realized he forgot his camera at home. He insisted they stop for a disposable camera and they went up to the Empire State Bldg. bec. she has never gone to the top. They stopped a woman and asked her to take a photo of them. As his girlfriend was talking to the woman, my son took out the ring, got on one knee and took her hand. He laughed as he said he didn't know who was more shocked, his girlfriend or the lady taking the picture.
They came over this afternoon with all my other children and we had a great dinner and evening together. I hope they will always be as happy as they are now.

I think that is such a nice proposal...and I would love to have been the one taking the picture!!!!

my sister and I got married in the same year too...and my mom was in such a state the whole year btwn engagement parties...showers...rehearsals...weddings....

Yabbobay, I don't think I would survive the wedding of two daughters in one year. Between the unavoidable stress of all the decisions, hormones, PMS, and the finances, I would probably need to be institutionalized by the time it were over. LOL!!!
