another estimate
as you may remember, we recently were quoted an obscene $60,000 for work in our front yard on our giant hill.
our next door neighbors just had a bunch of work done & we had their guy come over & give us an estimate for the following:
new front stoop (it wouldn't really be a stoop but bullnose- aka rounded steps- coming down from the front door)
a new walkway to the driveway
a patio in front of our big front window
all in pavers (not brick)
$6,200
whew! this guy seems to be very good (next door neighbor's work looks great) & very reasonable.
its not all the work we want done, but its a first step. we won't be able to get it done until november (after the wedding) but i'm very excited! i think it will make a huge difference in the look of our (very ugly) front yard. in the spring we'll hopefully do the retaining walls, steps down to the street, & the driveway.
