And are there any exercises for the area around your hips (the sides of your hips, sorry its hard to explain)

Thanks.

Re: Another exercise question

There are exercises you can do on the adducter/abducter machines and also floor exercises, but that won't make your inner and outer thighs any smaller. The only way to do that is by reducing your body fat by doing cardio. I almost never do inner/outer thigh exercises. No need to really if you do squats and lunges, which are comprehensive quad and hip exercises.
Sorry!

I agree!

But adding the muscle to that area is great for lifting it in all the right spots to give it a better shape, and the added muscle will boost your metabolism which will really help you loose fat.

So..
adding muscle + doing cardio + eating better = smaller butt and thighs

eddited to say...

lunges, leg press (pushing with heels mostly)squats, abductor and adductor machine will do the trick.

But don't be a wimp! Make it heavy enough so you can't do more than 12 reps per set!!!!(first time start out lighter, though)

Running, it makes your muscles bigger in some cases but tighter and you'll look great in shorts. It also lifts your butt, LOL! and all the machines mentioned in previous posts are awesome, and I agree DON'T BE A WIMP......common missconception is that women will get too bulky, its not 'in us' to get that way. The women who do this professionally are so stringent with eating exercise and supplementation thats why they get big muscles, you will just tighten adn tone and look amazing.
