Another Godparent question...

Another Godparent question...

What if you don't have ANY religious friends/family, and what if they're not Catholics? We honestly can't come up with anyone. Do you have to have Godparents? Also, none of our friends are responsible or religious enough. What should we do, or what can we do? Thanks!

I could be wrong here, but I think you can be your own godparents. Or witnesses at the church - call your priest and ask.

If either of your parents or hubby's parents are alive, you could choose them if you wish...also it does not need to be a fmaily member....you can pick friends that you are close too.

Are you planning on christening the baby in a Catholic Church Melissa? If so, then some allow you to have 1 confirmed adult and 1 non-confirmed, but christian adult. Other churches require that both Godparents are confirmed catholics. I don't know what the other Christian based religions allow though.
