Another Hair question...how much should I spend...

This may be a long question. So, I am getting married in the Catskills and I'm nervous about finding someone that will do my hair and not give me a prom up do. My hair is really long, heavy and stick straight. Seriously, I had my hair curled for my friends wedding that I was in in July and it lasted through the ceramony. I spent $100 on it and it took forever and it didn't even stay. I usually have less luck with updo's cause even with 400 bobypins it seems to fall out.

So...i got my haircut last week by the guy who has been doing my hair for the past few years. He's based in NYC and he will travel to do my wedding and party but it is going to cost me $2000. Now, he will do anyone elses hair in my bridal party included in that amount. If I ask my bp if they want to get their hair done and tell them it will be $100 a person and they can choose what they want to do, is that too much? I think its pretty standard but I don't want a pissed off bridal party. Assuming that I have 10 ppl that want to get their hair done that still leaves me paying $1000 for my hair. Is it worth it? I don't know what to do. The thing is he knows how heavy and straight my hair is and everytime I try and explain that to anyone else, they don't get it. It is my wedding so I want to look great but seriously, where do i draw the line?

I dont know your complete sitution but personally I would try to find someone in the catskills. I would have a few trials and then decide on that. I personally would not spend $1000 on my hair for one day.

But saying this, I had my hair done for my brothers wedding in NJ. I had never been the salon before. My hair looked bad and my mom had to go back to the hotel and wash it out and redo her own hair.

I'm sure you can find a great salon there.

That is exactly the problem...its not like there are a ton of salons there. My venue and our hotel suggested bringing someone in from Albany. At that point, I might as well just bring someone I know from NY. I have some other options and I'm def. going to go for trials but...I am not going to pay for anything I have to wash out and do myself that day...and I have been known to do that. Specifically why I usually just try and curl my hair when I am in someone elses wedding...I've washed my hair out or redone it 3 times now. I've gotten my hair done 5 times or so for weddings. I don't have a great track record for liking my hair. Maybe that is why I am so stressed over this.
